I think first time it was sent Boomerang Mail.
Great to see it has reached US, presumably by way of the Pacific Ocean.....so it has now pretty much done the global circumnavigation. So the story thickens.....

I'm still at work but had a mo' so I unfurled The Banner with a colleague and it was great to see the signatures of so many Forum members round the world! My workmate stated that it's good to see people are still doing things like this, that there's a connection, though often tenuous, with people who are keenly interested in keeping the past alive. Now I just have to get a few more members' sigs onto its storied surface!

I've covered many miles around the US west since June, including BC, Yukon and Alaska. In fact, I'm in the Redwoods of No Cal at the mo'. On most rides essential camping gear and the occasional pillion prevented the banner from making the trips. I didn't get any autographs. Though, NVBoy from BC, and I may have time to connect before too long.
I'm back in OZ late September and will have space in my large spares duffle to return it, unblemished.

I'm meeting NVBoy on Thoisdee arvo the 2nd at about 3-ish, just across the Narrows Bridge (think Gallopin' Gertie newsreel from the early '40s) for coffee/tea and would like to offer up that The Banner will be along to be signed for anyone from the Olympia/Tacoma/Seattle area. I'll be stuffing it in my checked luggage next Chewsdee bound for home.

Captured! Duck, NVBoy and I met in Gig and got our three signatures down. They took better photos than me which will likely surface up here sooner or later. NVBoy had to race to make his ferry connection an hour and a half away. It was a pleasure putting faces to names and we've tentative plans to meet up again.
At the Java & Clay Cafe, in quaint Gig Harbo(u)r, Washington. We corraled a coupla passersby to snap a few piccies of us suspending the Banner between the three bikes.
Just prior to departure I realised there was no way I would be able to strap the tube containing the Banner to my Big Block, so I rode my latest variant of a K.

Had to take the opportunity to sign the banner when it was in my corner of the world. Work, personal and family commitments and the immanent departure of the banner to the other side of the world dictated a single day run down to Gig Harbour in Washington State. Island living requires being a slave to ferry schedules and distances required hard riding without stops for smelling the roses or taking pics. Rendezvoused with Duck at his place enroute south. His garage was literally overflowing with K bikes. He said he had more in storage. He picked a couple of city cases off a wall rack full of panniers like he was taking a couple of books off a library shelf.
All my riding culminated in just 40 minutes with the banner, Duck and TWB. Great guys with interesting things to say but hardly enough time to say hello and marvel at the signatures and their significance. In a blink I had to zip off to catch my second of three ferries that day. I left home at 7:15am and pulled back in my driveway at 1:15am stiff and tired but my K purred like a kitten the whole way. EXECPT on the last ferry the foot tang on my side stand snapped off. A bit of welding is in order.
Terrificly interesting people so I'll make it a priority to meet up again when we actually have time for better conversations.

This is just amazing that the sKroll is still traveling.
Maybe one day somebody should take a wide angle pic with all the signatures as well as starting a map of its journey across the world.

The Banner is back on Aussie soil. I'll be transporting it southward from Brissie starting Wednesday the 12th of October and will be in the area of Sydney and greater environs that weekend (see my recent Australian rides post).
It'd be great to meet up with anyone in the area for a signing or ceremonial handing over.

It's been a while since TWB's brief visit to Aussieland.
But I finally located a few pics of his return .
It was to be a very brief encounter as we both had itineraries to stick to .
Daz and Pamela were in transit to Victoria , whilst my wife and I were heading off to enjoy our 20th Wedding Anniversary in Berrima .
Dazza was kindly returning the sKroll to Oz to be shared further amongst the Krew, seen here securely lodged on his RS.
On our way to Berrima ( by car unfortunately) we spotted these two near Gosford. There was no letting up on the throttle as they headed to Victoria.
It was good to catch up and share in Dazza's new ventures, and talk a bit on K's.
The BIG Merino in the hometown of Indian 036. Unfortunately Bill was unavailable for koffee on this day .
The sKroll has been sitting idle for a bit , so some research is underway to see about getting it to our komrades in the lower Pacific region , Kiwiland .

Some of the Aussie Krew enjoying the festivities of the DGR - Distinguished Gentlemans Ride on the harbour at Sydney .
With over 700 bikes , mainly of the Kafe pursuasion packed the tiny headland area at McMahons Point ferry terminal .
Reduce this image
L-R Warren C , Michael ( recovering from a recent fall from his K100), Ed , Mr Klompy and Nigel.
after all the fanfare of 100's of bikes including a few Kafe'd K's krowding our little patch of paradise in the late September spring sun ,
we moved on to Harrys Cafe de Wheels in Woolloomooloo for a bit of late lunch . Eventually dispersing in differing directions .

This years Northern Tablelands , which ventured across to the Mt Kaputar National Park near Narrabri .
The ride provided an opportunity to share the sKroll with a couple of kriminals who have been regular contributors on the forum .
Werewasi ( David ) and Pegasus ( Andrew ) took the time to skrawl on the fine fabric during our escape from Narrabri on sunday morning .
You will have to excuse Pegasus for his wardrobe , or the lack of it.
Koffee at Robertson last weekend and we caught up with newbie Andrew 2 ,
and dropped in to check out Alex McCarthy's police Kollection.
Alex here giving it the thumbs up .
The skroll is slowly gaining a patina of age , nonetheless still receiving keen attention when shared on rides with the krew.
There appears to be word of a meeting in the UK for K fest mid 2018 brewing at present . The sKroll may be headed that way in the New Year .
KiwiK100 ( Richard) is yet to share it across the ditch , so next stop for the sKroll is New Zealand.

It's good to see some of the Krew again, and glad the Banner is making the rounds. I'd had high hopes, whilst it was here, of a few more US & Canada-based forum members skribbling on it.
It was October of '16 I was last home and unless something unexpected occurs I won't be home again until October of '18. I hope the StaBil in the petrol of my trusty red RS is, well, stable. I'd better take a fuel pump mount along with me.

Seems to be a bit of banter happening at the moment for a K Fest in the UK.
The Endurance Legends will be holding their big event again in 2018 at Donington Park raceway.
It also appears that a K gathering will also take place during the weekend .
Motorbike Mike , Olaf, Will and a few others will be making their way across to this show , so I have offered for the sKroll to make its way to them .
Looking at our present kollection of skrawls on the sakred kloth , we should be nearing the 100th whilst there .
There is hope that amongst the visitors will be Ben from BSK Speedworks
and Slow Phil ( sidecar Phil) and his krew will be there for a bit of added entertainment

It seems the sKroll will be taking a detour via the Kedada Alicante in Spain , on its way to the K1fest at Endurance Legends in the UK.
Lots of Kameraderie to be shared amongst the K fraternity during the coming months .
As Bert said a while back , who would have thought it would still be travelling after all this time
Thankyou John (Blackbrick ) for getting the skroll across the ditch , and now to Ricardo in Spain .

great to see the komeraderie
The skrolls travels have been enjoyable to watch Charlie , so glad to see it continuing its journey amongst the Krew once more . Especially on this momentous year .
So far - Australia , Ireland , UK , France , Norway , Canada ,USA and New Zealand
2018 will see it visit - Spain in March ( Kedada Alicante) , UK in May ( Kfest at Donington Park) , France in June ( to see Bert) .
It would be good to see it continue on to the east coast of USA and Canada at the end of the year. and finally catch up with krew such as Robmack , Point Seven Five and Der Ziegelstein ( Flying Brick).
Big thanks to John for helping with the skrolls recent visit to Kiwiland.

Born Again was the first to put a list together , it was more organised than the current one which I have been adding to .Crazy Frog wrote:Later, I will try to match the forum user name with countries.92KK 84WW Olaf wrote:Name may not be a clue as to Country.....
Blackbrick , do you have a few more names which you would like to add from your recent visit.
When editing , do we have names as per country of origin , or country to which they signed the skroll in .
Bill from Australia, signed in Ireland ,
whilst BAE - Paul from UK , signed in both UK and Australia ( upside down) , and visited Bert in Canada.
Ringfad visited Inge in Norway.

I should meet Olaf in France and he will have the sKroll with him.Aiming for the East Coast of USA later this year .
I may bring it with me on the North American East coast.
With a couple of friends, we are tentatively planning a short trip to New York State and Pennsylvania in late August/Early September. if this goes according to plans, I should be able to bring the SKroll to the USA.

Hoping to see a few forum members get together on the East Coast to share the banners with Bert.
