Hi Charlie,

I am off from about the 23rd through to the 4th, so may available for a ride subject to spares arrival from the UK. Then again I may not be able to drag myself away from the tele as we are giving the Poms a bit of a roasting in the cricket and the Boxing Day test will be high on the list of priorities.

Cheers, Dave.

I'll say yes.

Off work 25th of Dec until the 1st of Jan.

Subject to change.

Outlaws visiting.

One day I'll come along for a ride and you'll get such a shock, you'll fall off your bike!

Have a fun ride guys, I won't have a registered bike on the road in time.

Just so I don't forget what she looks like, the QLD Police have sent me a charming photo of the back of the bike taken near Applethorpe last month. $146 seems a bit expensive for such a blurry photo but they did enlarge the number plate so I know it's mine. Merry Xmas to them.

Enjoy the holidays, and a very merry xmas to you guys too.

If my rellies turn up I will invent a 6 day ride to Townsville to get away, one that I am heavily committed to.
Unfortunately Andrew I was only having a bit of a joke but I would like to do a ride like that at some time maybe we could organize something. If it goes North it needs to be winter to be good riding weather.
Charlie is trying to get a bit of a ride over Christmas, we may be able to have a meet up. You would always be welcome on any of the jaunts we have.
Sorry for misleading you but you havent met my rellies.

I didn't think there was a place called Jimna. Isn't that just the name of the forest?
As I remember that's the back road to to sunshine coast and last time I traveled it, it had dirt bits.
Twas a long time ago though.
Bunya Mountains can be a day trip ?

When are you thinking of doing this?
I got the lights going tonight and put the throttle bodies etc back on the RBike.
It just needs a tune and tyres and it's back on the road.

I better not get any call outs tomorrow ...  Evil or Very Mad

I'll be in for meeting at Esk.
But it might be an idea to wait for the weather to cool off a bit.
Ks aren't the greatest bikes for riding in hot weather.
I see 38degree days forecast in the next week.
I went up to Toowoomba early yesterday morning and it was 35 degrees back here in Ipswich at 11am.

Yeah it even got to 35° here in Stanthorpe yesterday. We will just have to put knee sliders on our jeans so we look cool when we hang them out in the breeze.
I dont mind an extra long ride to meet at Esk or at Hampton at the top of the hill would be better. Got plenty of daylight now.

I see Jimna now, I missed it before. It's tiny.
Do you have a map that shows if that road from Kilcoy to Jimna is tar?
I sort of remember a fair bit of dirt out that way.
And what about the road from Jimna to Maleny through the Conondale Park?
I'll have to get myself a decent map from racq. Santa !!!

I found someone with an 18" rear tyre, booked for tomorrow am.

How about the Meringandan pub for lunch.  Just north of Toowoomba and west of the New England Highway.
I could meet at Hampton  around 11.30am. Just at the top of the hill from Esk

Sounds good to me, I'm easily pleased Smile
Round trip to Bunya is probably a bit far for some and the Woodford Festival is on so the D'Agular area will be alive with traffic and police.

Put the last fairing bits on the RBike this morning, it's running again  bounce
I've lost a rubber bung from the seat mount. It's the same as used for KBike gas tanks if anyone has a spare ...

should be at esk about 9.45 -10.00  for those meeting up there

I wonder if we should go via somerset rather than fernvale robin   (that's a right instead of a left after glorious )...that road is erm probably less travelled by the masses ...and not a bad one

so that would mean 9.15 - 9.30 at somerset shop - garage -eatery  nice folks as well !!!

ill probably slip up to Kingaroy to drop off albys stainless screws for disks, after lunch I guess

Sorry, have just got back from a Christmas stay at the girlfriend's place near Redcliffe.
A bit short notice for me.
Plus I've already made my contribution to the Qld police Christmas ball at Dayboro on boxing day

yeah probably right rob ..Saturday wasn't too unpleasant at all compared to today

hmm not sure of albys plans ....pretty sure they are working this week ..so wont be home till after 3.00

but still keen to do that run up the hill from esk  maybe turn right before Hampton and along the dams to Crowsnest

so that might make esk about 9.30 ish given that we are going a slightly quicker route anyhow  stop for a drink maybe ??

lunch up in or around Kingaroy somewhere

8:15 -8:30 at blunder road ?

Thanks for letting me tag along gents. Nice to finally meet you Robin (and son Fraser (sp)).

Thanks Alby and Nic for the cold water/fan/ginger beer/warm welcome. Great hosts, without a doubt!

Plenty of coppers, pursuit cars and speed traps.

Brilliant day out...now to have a look at the fuel sender and a small leak from one of the washers on a crankshaft cover bolt (I'll replace all of them).

Eleven hours was a big day out on the bikes in the heat we are experiencing just now. I forgot the sunscreen so I have a sunburn circle on my face where the helmet wasn't Smile  Too far for the boy I think, he's used to running around tamborine with his mates, 200Km tops, 550Kms was a bit of a shock to the system, he's flat on his back already Smile

The boys at Esk.

It was so hot in Kingaroy, I got my boot stuck in the road when I stopped to buy some peanuts. The road had melted and my left boot sunk deep into the tar. I had to drive off to pull it out. Charming.

And after passing at least 6 police road patrols without issue, a flash went off as Fraser and I went threw traffic lights near Ashgrove close to home. I'm sure it was yellow, we shall see if a photo arrives in a couple of weeks.

Those new tyres have certainly fixed all the handling issues on that RBike, it was a real pleasure to ride it over Mt Glorious today. But I have confirmed oil is weeping from the head gasket. Just enough to be really annoying and it won't fix itself Sad

Thanks for the day out guys, great to meet some more qld members.
