Just curious.  When you're riding around at 0C do you ever come across black ice in shadows from the night before?

Black ice can happen.

We do have to be careful.

Put my car in a ditch when I hit ice in the shadow of a barn one February morning a long time ago.  Yes, you have to be careful.  My rule for winter riding is to wait for a couple days after the snow melts and the roads dry off.  Then I don't go out until noon on a sunny day.

Last March I didn't wait long enough and at 8 a.m. I dropped my RT on the second turn I took.  A narrow stream of frozen water in the middle of the turn was all it took to throw the bike out from under me.

Like I said ,the crappy weather in NY . One of the main reasons I'm heading to Arizona .
