I made it to the K1 treffen in Germany, it was a little sad to see Inge's signature that I got him to do when I brought the banner to Norway.

I have now seen the banner in Ireland, Norway, UK and Germany.

That's cool to see all of those K1s lined up.

Absolutely brilliant concept and thread. This forum is Krazy and the Banner’s journey is as much an example of that as is the generosity and knowledge shared. In the 11 months since I became a member I have gone from a total newbie with a newly acquired but sadly unloved old girl to feeling like I can tackle almost anything (although I will probably always have to lean heavily on Dai and others when it comes to electrics ) and I have a bike that feels like it will go anywhere.
I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting a couple of you and have been unconditionally invited to meet up with many others. Like I said, Krazy place. I have already had the chance to recommend the forum to a couple of K owners I have met out and about. It would be great to have the honour of signing the banner myself one day (although at that time I’d probably wish I had chosen a cooler ‘handle’  ) and I hope to soon take my place as a contributor and not just a sponge. Thanks all, see you on the road.

isn't that spectacular Ed ...who would have thought that the generosity and good will of so many of the members would keep this piece of memorabilia travelling around the globe

with so many thanks to fellow members contributions of travel . organising and physically being in the right place ...travelling to the right destination

in many ways thanks to your valuable contributions along the path Ed.....

the list of thanks is huge ...and not something I can document in here ..  but the camaraderie shown by so may is astounding

I might add that the k community seems to be growing around this little part of the world ...

last weeks "Inverell motorcycle restorers club " week day ride saw 3 of 9 bikes being k bikes   (k75 rockman , k100 ..me .k1100 another member )  with seani , smithy and old mate at Llangothlin and a few ohers brings the count up too about 8-9 k bikes within a 65 k radius ...spectacular eh ?

The forum made a small contribution to the Klassicas K meeting in Spain.
I designed the poster for Salvador (the organizer) as well as the logo for the K1 Spanish club.
The K100-forum logo is on the advertising poster.

I really like the forum's banner.
I finally finished the official design for the Spanish Klassic BMW K club.
It was the most difficult one that I made.  Every time I sent a sample, BMW rejected it because it was too complicated.
I was so frustrated that I almost sent this one...


Finally, this one was accepted.

Last fall, I started to work on a k12lt logo, but finally abandoned the project.
BTW, for the Spanish logo, BMW didn't accept a roundel on the gas tank.

Hi all, well I’ve been MIA for a couple of years with a lot of changes for me, but firstly thanks to John (Blackbrick) for posting the photos of the sKroll in Kiwiland as I had no idea they had not been posted. I’ve just caught up reading the last two years of the sKroll’s global travels as my thoughts once again turn to older K bikes. I am now residing in Port Macquarie NSW after selling everything up in NZ prior to the move back. With plans of being on the Aussie roads with wife, truck and caravan for 12 or more months my restored K100RS Style and K1 fell victim to the for sale ads as I had nowhere to store them. Fortunately both went to a private collection in Tauranga, south of Auckland, NZ. I did keep my trusty K1200RS that I’ve owned for 18 years and covered 185,000km. That went into storage here in Sydney for nearly 18 months, and fired straight up on stale fuel but with the help of a fresh battery. Now settled in Port Macquarie I have my eyes on another K100 resto project to keep me busier than I already am. Great to see all the familiar names are still here and look forward to catching up with some of you if passing through this neck of the woods.

Thanks for the warm welcome (back). The two bikes I sold in NZ were a bitch to part with as I spent 2 years collectively restoring them but bringing them into Aussie had all sorts of issues. I have my eye on an ‘91 K100RS 4V in Cleveland, Brisbane and hope to tie up the sale in the coming days. It’s pretty tidy but honest and original so good bones to start with. Bloody Covid is a PITA as I can’t get over the border to look at it. Seller is looking into bringing it down to the border but will see how he goes.

Hi Richard and welcome back, I wondered were you had gone.

I have had 3 x k100 16v and they are one of my favourites so hopefully you will get it.

Last time I saw the banner was in Alicante (Mar 2020) just before everything went bad. I left my K1100RS out in Spain planning to go back but that never happened. 

Luckily Olaf managed to find a a man in a van and 3 bikes appeared back in Ireland last week. A pity as we all had plans to ride Spain this summer.

Hey Simon, great to hear from you too, and apologies for the lack of communication. It is great to be back on the forum and the purchase of the 4V is continuing. I hate buying anything unseen and an old K is certainly no exception, but its in original condition including the paint and while no oil painting, I think it will scrub up ok. Spoke with the current owner just 20 minutes ago and he sounds genuine so will probably pull the trigger on it.

Following the 2020 Alicante Kedada in Spain , the banners found themselves in lock down . Thanks to Ricardo , they are being well looked after until transport can be arranged to get them to Al in Oz . Where they will kontinue the K celebrations in mid 2023.

I have previously posted them to Oz.......happy to do it again. There is a Klatter of fresh K members here in our Eccentric group so it could pass by here and then pick up a pudding or 2 for onward posting!!!

Well, its already in Europe and I really cant see any reason for it to be here in OZ before that time.

For the Kalendar in OZ, I can forsee only a few things we'd "need" it for: a 2022 northern Tablelands ride, 2022 ride to Rosskos resting place, 2023: whatever 40th ann. K series celebration happens here.

All good here thanks Gaz . Unfortunately Rick , postal out of Spain and Europe is stale . I am currently awaiting a few parts from Ulis , which I ordered a month ago, and are still on the tarmac in Germany. I suggested to Arlina she might like to benefit from its presence , as it is close to home for her. Thats if Ricardo can find an optional means of transport, and if she is able to forward on to Oz in time for 2023. We'll see. 

I must be just lucky I bought a new set of roller lifters for the car and it only took about a week.

This arrived at my house a few weeks ago, fresh from Ricardo in Alicante. Bike had been stuck in Spain for 500 days and because of Brexit issues owner could not get it back to London. Owner has since collected it in Dublin and rode it back to London. Ricardo could have put the banner in the van and I could have passed to Olaf ...

That could be interesting as my youngest daughter is in Antwerp and its not too difficult for me to ride there having promised her a visit.

At the moment I am about to book a ferry to Roscoff France on 14th May to 4 June but can make that earlier and ride east instead of south. 

It has got a little complicated because seems I need to be in London on 29th April for a  centenary commemoration that Will Crean may also have an interest in.....so I can take the bike and leave it at my daughters then fly back to hers and ride to NL. Keep us posted on likely dates!!!!

hope it pans out , as Olaf has been accustomed to playing the Keeper of the sKroll on numerous ocassions .

I must add some personal discussion has been taking place with an individual known here as Krazy Frog about a possible meet up in France next year.......not sure if that's going to happen but hope it might.

Meeting will be in the second half of May, friday - monday.
Busy with a place to get all riders together, take care for food and accomodation.
Prepairing some GPS rides for the bikes.
Riders can come for 1 hour or the whole weekend, your choice

And for all accomodations I spoken to, it is strictly forbidden to throw a motorbike on campfires.

Hi Arlina

Where in the Netherlands might the event take place ? I have never ridden a bike in your country as yet. I have been next door in Belgium and Germany. Just want to dream over the next few months of planning another trip to Europe.

Is there a date? I would need to know that soon and have discussed going with Will [88] as we normally go to France together

My daughter lives in Antwerpen so I have another reason to go over!

I have already booked camp site in France for 15 May to 3 June.

I have not yet booked the ferry on 13 May and 3 June as I have choices but they are limited for now and once booked I cannot change the tickets and the ferry from Cork books up quickly.

If it is 13 or 20 May I can make it by taking a different date ferry and then head from Amsterdam to the Dordogne.

Plan is in the second half of May, in or around Valkenswaard.
