This forum along with flyingbrick.de was a lifesaver more than once. After a long period of lurking, I think it is proper to join the community.
My KrautWerk will have 27th birthday these days and has received my not so gentle care since 2003. Number of previous owners at least 3. Most maintenance is performed by me and I am a total layman as far as vehicles are concerned (but love conquers everything). Diagnostics, tricks and shortcuts learned here had given me the courage to wrench, pull apart, sometimes even put back together and keep the old faithful on the road most of the time.
Thanks.

Pozdravljeni in dobrodošli
Well you already know how much information there is on the forum but joining in the discussions makes it more interesting. If you have been doing your own maintenance I bet you have a lot of experience to offer too!

Well : The K100 was sold to the first owner in 1985 by the official BMW importer. I think that year the cost was dealer price + 42% tax on luxury. Enough trivia.
Sometime around 1990 it was fitted with a K75RT ex-police fairing and a nice belly pan. Somehow a pair of Nokia speakers were also mounted in original holders.
Afterwards the history goes blank until I found this weird whizzing machine that was haunting me for decades.
A gambler needed to sell it pronto. I was just cutting on my drinking, so I was holding the spare cash. No test drive allowed but I adopted it in a cloud of smoke (from exaust that is....).
No Z mounts, so it got a GIVI WingRack and a basic once through by a BMW mechanic (black market job).
Speedo died after first 20 k Km. Replaced with a worse spare that died after 5000. Sigma bicycle speedo installed.
Shorting a connector to a switch provided for hazard turn signal blinking.
Besides regular oils, filters and pads the shaft was replaced after too much fun on Sardegna (made it home every time). A used rear shock installed after exploring Albania. The fan replaced after too many high pressure washes and the starter relay after baking it by low battery. Yeah and two bulbs, starter brushes and alternator brushes this month. That was about it in last 8 years.
It took me anywhere, grilled my legs, but it was never perfect..... until I discovered I am not the lonely fool.....
and I should do the stupid contacts, brushes and wires. The problem is that I will be stuck with this bike 4ever, even if I ever ger some other bike. Why ? I can almost fix it on the road (until the engine explodes), my wife won't ever let me sell it and well, it runs in defiance of all the abuse.
For the days I wish I had the RS, my wife lends me her Zephyr, so I can risk my licence for a while.
You may call me a bootlicker, but if it was not for this forum (and IBMWR / Flyingbrick), I would be stuck with expensive new parts and BMW dealer prices, which would lead to getting rid of it.
We are both far from perfect and both ugly & neglected, but we adapted to each other (I'm talking about K). This is to say that nothing specially beautiful can be shown on the pics, but I will post some one of these nights.
You may stop now and go do something useful Twisted Evil

Cheers, mate. We are all in our way having a relationship with 'that other woman'. Mine's a red head, but never as temperamental, steady and reliable but doesn't mind a bit of hot rodding now and again to keep things interesting 'when we are alone'. As we say Down Under, good onya!
