Hi all,
I have a question hopefully someone might experienced.
I had to clean sprag clutch as stoped working was gunked up. Works fine now.
While I was in there I put new bearing and seal in bell housing. I used a normal 6004 c3 skf bearing.
Put all back together and started sounded nice quite compared to old bearing. Ran it up road and after about 1/4 mile start making noise in bell housing area, so turned around and then few yards further the bike seized.
Luckily I have had loads two strokes years ago and still ride as habit with hand over clutch. I was on few yards from.home.
Took all.apart again and the bellhouse/alternator bearing has seized solid. Seems be no oil in the area as well.
This has baffles me and not sure if bearing faulty or I did something wrong.
Anyone have any ideas. How does this bearing normally get lubricated.
Plenty oil in bike as just put it in.
I have ordered a new bearing etc but don't want same thing to happen again.
The bearing is blue with the heat. I did not put any extra oil when I put in in. Should I have done this?
Any assistance I would be grateful.
Hopefully then I can get back on road in nice weather
