Does anyone know about solid (undrilled) discs for the front on a k? I have a normal pair (with drilled holes) that need replacing and have seen some second hand solid ones? Worth following up?

Oi thought solid discs were for rear, just put one on the RT. The original front drilled discs are stainless steel. I have seen an option to change for cast iron but not sure if they are solid or drilled.

I would not have undrilled discs on the front. The biggest advantage of drilled discs is water clearance on a wet disc and that is a big thing that the brake starts working immediately not after 2 revolutions of the wheel to clear the water. You are also far less likely to lock a wheel in the wet with drilled discs.
Cast iron is a far better braking medium than stainless but it isn't anywhere near an pretty.

I have cast solid discs on the front, they are fitted to the original carriers with bolts in a refurb kind of style. I think the pads are Ferodo Platinum (hard to tell as the markings have worn off the back!) and have not noticed any wet weather lag but the brake fade is quite phenomenal, I only get one good stop and then the lever is halfway back to the bar. Stop hard again less than 10 seconds later and I have to leave the front brakes alone for about 15 seconds, otherwise there is a dangerous lack of stopping power.

They have also pitted quite badly in the rain where the pads sat next to them, and no longer brake smoothly - it might be an MOT fail, certainly bad enough for an advisory. The front wheel is also constantly covered in dust and rust if such a thing bothers you!
