Hi everyone

Does anyone know which size socket to use to remove the screws located at the front of the engine and frame.
The screws on my bike are the ones which are included with the engine protection bars and have an unusual shaped head.

Thanks

Try photo. Could they be big Torx heads? Mine if I remember are Allen Key.

I had these bolts, for the engine protection bars, on my K100 16V and was able to use a standard socket to remove them, I don't recall the size but was nothing unusual.

The bolts that attach the engine protection bars definitely are not 8mm socket head cap screws.
They are a fit to a conventional 12 point socket and 22mm from memory.
The bolts that are for the front mounts that are 8mm socket head cap screws are for the engines without the protection bars.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for your replies, especially Rick and Inge.
Inge, the photo you posted is the same type of screw I was referring to.
I want to replace the screw but don't know which type and size socket I should use.
Inge, any suggestions?
I will follow up your info Rick.
Thanks.

I don't know the size but I believe a 12 point socket will fit it.
