good one Ghostie , . had me all choked up there for a moment .
so does the pic mean you'll be there , but won't be there? bike seems all fitted out..
Rossko , I think you better pack some better wet weather gear than that. and best to pack some thermals as well.
I wouldn't be polishing anything either.

I'm not to worried about the weather at this stage , I don't think that they can accurately forecast the weather more than 3 day's out. Anyway Elders weather is saying that the wind is from the NW , so even if it's wet it should be clear, you mainly get low cloud hanging over the mountain when the wind is from an easterly direction causing white outs . At this stage it's only possible storms, 80% of 5mm. So hopefully we'll get a good day .
Hey rossko It's good to see your bringing your cap, but Christ mate it still looks new it needs to get out more often. Ear plugs? aren't K bikes quite.

As long as the bike starts, I'm about to hit the road. Looks like wet tomorrow and Saturday but who cares?
It'd only going to dirty up my pipes.
See those who are travelling up (or down) at Sean's.
Safe trip everyone.

Ride safe Bob and watch out for Tschörmans.

Been about 7 weeks since Ol' blue was on the road , FI relay now in place , starts up first strike of the button .
so what does one do with a day off and 2 K's in the driveway....?
Mrs Grover and I took the opportunity to return the loaner 1100 to it its rightful owner and express our gratitude for the time borrowed .
A mild 30 degree day , possibly a sign of the impending weather for the weekend ahead.
happy travels to all on the road tomorrow, will catch up at Coffs .
not yet packed , will do something tomorrow, in between Dad chores and other things.
Raincoat , must pack raincoat....

I know that the weather has been on everyone's mine , but I'm going to take it with a grain of salt , as last weekend they forecast 40 mm of rain here and we got 4 mm. If we say to ourselves it's going to be to wet it'll be dry no doubt , so we'll just go as planed . I'm exited to as I'm looking foreword to riding with like minded people with a common interest. Hey Klompy the sealy lookout turn off is just past the big Banana on the left , took out for the Bruxner park sign. We'll be stopping there to stretch our legs , if you miss us .

There seems to be some confusion on were to meet up in Coffs Harbour, so this is for Klompy , Ed, Waz and any others wanting to meet up in Coffs. Do you know where the jetty foreshores are in Coffs? There is a big park area to the right of the jetty (wharf ) If you like we can slip over to the foreshores and catch up there . And from there we can all ride up to the lookout and then on to lunch. Makes sense to me so it's a given, that's what we'll do. We should leave Dorrigo by 10.00am and that should put us at the foreshores about 11.00ish. Let me know what you think .

hit a wall this evening , bags packed , all ready to go and .... no lights!
apparently the harness Keith and I swapped during the FI repairs , does not correspond with the LT .
Lights up at 1 o'clock , but at 3 o'clock , ingition position , there is a black out.
return to 1 o'clock lights on , back to 3 o'clock no glow.
Am I right in suggesting the harness ?
not too keen risking low visibility on a wet w/end at this stage, need to keep safe. possible night riding as well.
need to get on to Keith and do the swap back over , the original had some fused ( bonded ) wires but still worked so we'll have to sort that out.
and without the extra K , took it back yesterday . didn't notice the lights during our ride.
so it sounds like us pikers need to put in a special effort in order for a reprieve.
sorry to all who have put in the effort. I shall now go and sit in the corner.
just PM'd Klompy , i'll text Waz asap.

I'm home. Got out of tornado alley around 5:30am Guyra time, weather radar showed north to Warwick as the rain free route home but there are bugger all 24 hour servos open on that road. I opted not to take on ethanol fuel at Glenn Innes (the only open servo), so the reserve light came on about 15 Kms later. Did just over 75 Kms on reserve and put 24.5 liters into the 26 liter tank at Tenterfield. Lucky....
Here's a pic of all the bikes near the foreshore at Coffs Harbour.

headed over to Keith's on saturday morning . managed to get the harness swapped and lights working, thanks Keith , he appreciates any K therapy , as his chores are many at home.
we looked to the skies to the west, Keith reassured me '.a clear run , no worries'
headed west in the hope to catch up with the tablelands riders .
made it to singleton , not looking good in the skies, pushed forward to muswellbrook ,
dodging lightning bolts , heavy rain and winds, and drenched to the bone.
took cover under an overpass with a fellow east bound rider, word from him was no let up in the weather to the west.
took me 3 1/2 hours to get this far , wasn't sure of my chances for the rest of the trip to guyra.
decided it was best to go with the flow instead of against it. so I called it a day and balanced precariously between thunderstorms for the trip home., sorry guys .
message from Smithy this morning was they had a good ride, well done to those who made it.
I'm hoping that with the after effects of the Guyra cyKlone, that all make it home safely and without delay.
Smithy when you put on a ride , you certainly put a lot into it.
can't wait for the pics and report. ed.

A brief ride report and some pics. We had a total of 13 bikes 10 Ks 2x GS 1X R/RT and with the sky threatening rain at 8.00 am we decided to get going before the rain comes. The first part of the ride to Ebor was bleak with low cloud most of the way, on leaving Ebor the low cloud started to lift giving us a great ride down into Dorrigo for our first stop for coffee. After leaving Dorrigo we made our way to Coffs Harbour jetty foreshores to meet up with Klompy & Waz then it was up to Sealy lookout for a stretch and on to lunch at Nana Glen. The only rain was back on top of the range at Glen Innes where some of us found shelter waiting for the storm to pass. Then back to Sean's in Guyra for a BBQ and a few well earned beers. I have kept this post brief as I'm sure when everyone arrives back home there will be plenty more story to be told. There may have been four seasons on the day , but I'm sure it was a great day had by all , looking forward to other reports. Thanks everyone for making the effort with such bad weather all around you still came, that made for a great day's riding.
Leaving Guyra
Arriving At Ebor
Coffee at Dorrigo
More pics to come later

Had a great time rain, storms and hail and many thanks to Sean and Kerry for allowing their house to be turned into Party central, also for the accomodation it was much appreciated.
I would strongly recommend you don't drink the remainder of the red I left it has some kind of poison in it.
Also a big thanks to Warren (not our Waz) who helped fix my flat tyre.

Home safe. Cup of tea time and the v8s on the telly.
Photos will appear later.
Trip not all without incident.
Lost my phone at Walcha. Oh well
Waz is spending the night in Tamworth.
We had to leave him. Put his back out while getting fuel just after we left Guyra.
Had breakfast in Uralla and that is where we left Waz.
Felt bad abandoning him, but he had some green and yellow pills that apparently knock him out so he was off to find a motel room and sleep it off.
If someone reading this has his number, just send him a text. He will probably be asleep till after dinner time.
Despite rain had a fantastic time.
