I am right for the big N. Col and I are planning to check out places like Perthville, just outside Bathurst for accommodation etc. in the next two weeks. I think Col will be out of his hand paddles by then and away from pain medication, so that he can check out the beer. This will be a fact finding mission. The first weekend in September, from memory.

The Narrandera Hotel seems like the best bet and I think it has a chineese restaruant attached
Ulrich we had already decided on Narrandera some time ago but Jindabyne certainly has some merit so maybe next year we could make it a bit earlier and avoid the cold although it doesnt bother me.
I will leave some info on the pubs as soon as I find out about them.

Well the Narrandera Hotel is the pub and has a restaruant attached (no longer chineese)
They have 7 rooms with Doubles singles etc book yourself in, I have already booked mine. Single $40 Double $50 and Family $60 Some of the single guys may wish to share a family room and one of the family rooms has 2x double beds 02 6959 2057
There are several more pubs close by and some motels just in case they run out of rooms.
Caravan parks for Bella, Lake Talbot caravan park and is well out of town and Narrandera Caravan Park which is a lot closer but still about 1k from the pub and is pet frendily so Bella will be able to bring Sean along. http://www.narranderacaravanpark.com.au/ I have stayed there and it is a good park but book early as the grey nomads will be around in their thousands.

Having a squiz at Google maps, there's an abandoned servo across the road from the pub and a St Vinnie's just next door. Surely someone will take pity on our plight and let us darken a doorway. Driving the Google camera round town I see several public parks and gardens. But as far as a back garden behind the pub for tents, you'll be in a piss-smelling alley.

By the time I get back the tyres'll be flat along with the battery, and she'll be in need of fresh fluids all round, and a certificate of roadworthiness - rego's expired. If I ship the RT back it'll still be on the boat. The RS will have to do, and nicely too.

dont mind riding in the rain around here (nice and warm ) grover ....(except around mittagong , guyra or the snowy (all the cool spots ))

its a real pain though when your wet ....and ...HAVE ...to camp by the side of the road for hours and hours, days even ...in the rain as well , waiting for flood levels to subside .

i might get a chance to camp in the snow around the queens birthday weekend (alpine rally ) if i get my ass into gear and do the gearbox, output shaft seals, clutch . and swing arm bearings before then ...and have some "flash cash" left over afterwards

Yeh, Rossco posted it the other day,still hasn't sold. The chair alone would usually sell for around $5000.
anyway ,as I mentioned on Rossco's thread , a good buy for somebody.

OK, so this is my plan and itinerary:
Day 1: Leave Guyra on the Thursday ( May2nd) and wander off through Gunnedah and down the ( I kid you not) Black Stump Way and end up in Wellington for the night. Throw up tent, get tucker, drink, fall over.

Day 2: Get woken up by red dog, head in the direction of Blayney, possibly stopping over in Orange to annoy Col for 5 minutes and doing some dirt miles to Crookwell via Tuena. Get off bike, throw up tent, look for tucker, drink, fall over.

Day 3: Get woken up by red dog. Head off in the direction of Narrandera via Jugiong, Junee and Coota, across through Coolamon. Repeat earlier steps.

Home again on Monday through Dubbo.

Well here is my plan. Leave Stanthorpe probably Wednesday and get to Narrandera probably Saturday but maybe Friday. Inbetween HooNose. Leave Narrandera Sunday and go home arriving when we get there.

I usually don't have such a detailed plan but I thought it was needed this time.

If anyone wants/ needs/ cares to come through sydney on the thursday or wednesday there is a bed at my place. It may have other people in it but there is still a bed and can then head off on Friday to meet Halo and any other Mexicans for a friday night stay and then off to N'dra
