I suggest Narrandera in South West NSW. Ideas anybody coz we want the Victorian guys to be able to come.

The Aussies have been having two meets a year and May is as good a time as any for the other one coz thats when the school holidays have finished.

I think that the 30th. celebrations have already been penciled in for early September........matching the release of the K. Bathurst has been suggested.
May is a good time....long trip for the northerners., short one for me.

They are called a touring bike for a good reason.

I've got daughters wedding on 11th May, so depending on when in May I might be in or not.....

First weekend which is 4th & 5th. It might be a long weekend for the queenslanders depending what Crumble Numptie has done with the calendar. Any weekend in May would be ok for me but I'm retired and can please myself so open to some suggestions.

Well not unless you take a short cut and make it a 3 day effort each way.

might have to plan the trip to the "karua river rally" again in feb-march as a stop gap run between times (ps i dont think i have to ask rick if hes heading here .....the dirt and rocks and fork seals kinda put him off i recon.)

Seems to me that as I haven't had any letter bombs or goblins relieving themselves on my bike that Narrandera is the place.
Now for the date Bert 2.0 said 11th May is out for him and Rossco said that a date was also but didn't say which date.
I would prefer 4th-5th May or 18th - 19th but as we progress futher into May September gets closer.
I will call 4th -5th May and if you want it on any other date speak up and it can be easily changed as it is for now only a red circle on a calendar.

There are no public holidays or school holidays to contend with only the constant stream of grey nomads coming out of Melbourne and heading north for the winter. They usually have their own accommodation behind their car so don't book out the Pubs and Motels only the caravan parks.
Has anyone got any other ideas or suggestions, I am open to ideas for this time and others.

I am all good for May. My day in may was a joke that it seems only Mr K got. (May day). Oh we'll.

Rick, you had a winner with Bingara and I have full trust in your planning. Can you guarantee that I do not have a mishap on the way to and from the meeting? The last two involved embarrassment.

I do believe that its someone elses turn...bags not me.... :O)...a testiment to the K when you consider how much can be wrong and you can still get home...Narrandera....in May...should just be starting to cool down too...looking forward to it.

I,m in. You northeners can come via Bathurst, pick up Col at least, through the forests to Oberon, to Goulburn, Collector, Rugby (famous place but smaller than I thought), Boorowa, Young, Hay or wherever. Keep off the truck route highways.
Might need to flush my coolant before then.
Myabe I'll have Waz to keep me company.

Hello little red dawg. Yes this ride is on as no one has objected to the date or place so the first weekend in May it is.
Just have to work out which Hotel has the best accomodation and least bed bugs, if anyone has any suggestions I am only too willing to hear them.

Can we also set the date for September? The reason is that if we want to attract some bikes to the 30th bash, we need a date.
Once Col is better I will pick him up ( on 4 wheels) and go and look at pubs (fact finding mission). That will keep his mind active and also be interesting to see him drinking beer without holding a glass. Maybe it could be good physio for him to practise holding a glass. First weekend in September?

I am sure he can lift a beer with his mouth...but not too many cause he may need a hand later...lol

As Bella has now become a star and I am merely the chauffeur, I will be needing a place to throw up a tent, so if you go for a recce, Stan, can you have a look for a caravan park?

Yeah I reckon that some of the smaller communities not far away could be a bit better for accommodation.
I had a look on line at accommodation in Bathurst and it is on the expensive side.
Thinking that we could organize something like a get together up on the mountain, on Saturday afternoon/evening although I am not sure how that goes nowdays and what is there to do it.

Father in law is looking at giving my RT a tidy up for the run, mainly cosmetics.

what sort of help is needed for organizing, ie; food, ice, neck oils, eskys , shelter, tables , chairs, support vehicle may be required..!

I have PA equipment(1 x 20w, 1 x 80w self powered) can be transported on bike if needed, runs Ipods ,mics and the like.
but requires a small generator for anything over 2hrs operating time.

Which local areas are worth looking into for sleeping quarters,
can you camp on/near the hill that time of year, do you contact council etc,

Yes the plannning is happening but as for Bathurst in September I have had no response from any of the other BMW organizations I contacted so if anybody else wants to try they are very welcome.

I'm in for the first weekend in May...Narrenderra...lodgings need to be sorted...PUB...Beer...Food.
Will probably meet up with RT at Mittagong...maybe Stan could meet there as well, and then take the long cut to N. Will consult the map and try to formulate a route...Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night, Sun night, home on Monday evening, ready for the new grandchild on the Tues.

I was considering Jindabyne as a venue, similar distance for the QLDers and Vics. Getting closish to winter and may be dodgy.
