Stena line and Irish ferries fares are approx. the same at 120-125 Eu.return. The food on board can be pricey. Fares also vary depending on the season.

€20 for two drinks affraid

What were you drinking, 20 year old single malt?

(On a more depressing note, the budget over here has just added €1 on a bottle of wine, and 10c on a pint of beer, as you can guess we've no vineyards, but lots of hops)

Unfortunately Killarney got a name for ripping off people. I was well deserved, my first visit there was a chilling experience. However I was being charged double the going rate for Irish coffees. They were dumbfounded when I refused to pay it.

Lots of good hotels around there now though, but be careful eating out and going to pubs beause there are some good ones if you go off the beaten track that charge normal prices.

Due to the numpties giving us bad press at the moment, here are some more pics I took this week out & about with work, showing nicer images than on the news. Also another possible route, coast north of newcastle, over on the strangford ferry to portaferry & round the ards penisula.

Cluster Map - Page 2 Dscf0011

Gun's island just off Ballyhornan, County Down. There are sheep on the island, the farmer can move them on/off when the tide is out.

Benberg Bay, Ballyhornan

The fishing fleet (whats left) Ardglass Harbour, County Down

Spot the seal!

Yip, probably hard to tell in the pic, but there is a family live there, approx eight, and really make fishing from the harbour hard, but they are fab creatures. The fishermen also tolerate them now and feed them left overs from the catch Very Happy

That was my plan B route for September, Gerard.
Roads aren't fast but very quiet and stunning scenery especially heading south towards the Mournes. It's an area most tourists aren't aware of.
