In my local village(Blaxland), some bright spark though it would be a good idea to decorate the highway with Palm trees to reduce the available parking. So here's the K, the dog/s and the required Palm Tree

Nice one Al-58.
There are certainly more speed cameras in the UK (for our safety, you understand) than palm trees.
Our caring sharing law enforcement people even have the courtesy of painting them bright yellow - some say that making them obvious makes them a more effective as a deterrent (especially as a lot of them are turned off anyway). I think it's just the idea of some sick, twisted individual who wants to make you feel really stupid if you do get caught.
Anyway, see your speed camera...
and raise you a....

Good, the game is moving again.
Can do a distillery tomorrow, and I think you'll be surprised what sort of distillery.
So if anyone else wants this one, you'd better get yourselves into gear.

Not common here either but Telstra do have a website where you search for locations by your postcode for the few that are left.
The weirdest one I ever used was a public phone booth with a windup phone still connected to a manually operated switchboard. It was in the mid 80s, one of the last manually operated exchanges in the country.

Hi there, may I propose a salt plain?
These are near Sud America´s nortests point, are known as Salinas de Cumaraguas
Regarding the side panels, them are made that the heat is channeled backwards, thank bottom is insulated and also all fuel lines, I have not had problems regarding it.

How far is the North of south America?
In the south of France they have a region called "Les salins de Camargue" where they 'harvest' sea salt.
The names are strangely similar.

The largest salt flat in the world is Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia which is about 220 km in size and contains about 10 billion tons of salt. I have been there. It is like being on another planet.

As nobody posted pictures of a real salt plain, I propose this one.The sand is so packed with salt that you can ride on it . Crescent beach is 2 km long. The sand beach is separated from the tidal flats and salt marsh of Dublin Bay by sand dunes which rise in height from 2 m in the west to 6.8 m near the east end.
This is the best that I can do for this part of the world. Does this count?
Note for Nino: The women in the sidecar is Christina. You will meet her riding in Croatia next fall.
We rode the whole length of the packed sand at pretty decent speed (even the sidecar was hard to control)and it reminded me the movie The fastest Indian".
And look what I found today. MTT (Maritime Telegaph and Telecom) was bought in 1998 (and the name was changed to Bell-Aliant but the phone booth is still there) This was one of the previous challenge.

Here is the next challenge: a picture of a k100 with a bike from the early 70's (in this example, the bike is a 1971 Honda 350 twin owned by a young lady very proud of her ride and the result of the restoration)
The restriction is that you cannot own the bike (sorry for the 1400 Kawi or Vincent owners ).
This is easy, but shows that we also appreciate the restoration efforts from other riders.

The H2 was named the widow maker in Canada. Lots of power, and no way to stop it.
15 liters tanks and 100 km autonomy. This is translating to... A lot of money per kilometer or mile.

OK, it's just a bit earlier than the 70's, but here's a late BSA A10 with a period Avon Streamliner dustbin fairing and a Watsonian sidecar, photographed at the weekend's camp with the Fenland Sidecar Club.
And, assuming that the BSA is an acceptable offer, the next challenge is a set of sports posts, any sport you like.
These posts are for the game of hurling, spotted on the way home today; note the netting to prevent the ball, chuck or whatever it is called, flying into the road.
Paul.

went for a run to Stockton Beach today, found these on the way.
we took the short way home via Newcastle, including a spot of rain , enjoyed the whole afternoon.
Paul , here in Oz , the sport of hurling or chucking usually follows a big night out , after celebrating a grand event, and the entrants are often found competing at the roadside.
unfortunately there are no winners from this event.
Stockton surf lifesaving club ( circa 1932 ) in the background, with my son next to Ol' Blue.
what a fantastic venue to view your local team having a game. overlooking the entrance to the harbour.

thanks Paul,
even though we have plenty of sporting fields in our local town. despite some slight drizzle, we ( my son and I ) enjoyed the ride across to the beach to find some posts .
Following the recent escapades on ferries lately by Paul and the Eccentrics , I thought I'd grab this one whilst in Stockton .
This is the Stockton to Newcastle ferry, it runs 24 hrs a day transporting people across the harbour ,
I was thinking of the Alpine Rally boys at this stage as the clouds constantly rolled in and out .
the ride across the harbour could be likened to dodgeball as you scuttle around the larger cargo ships entering the port.
your ferry can be big or small , with your K in , on or beside it.
this is one the guys from Melbourne and Tassie can get involved with.. wheres your spirit ?

The Jail, was kind of a symbol of the city, and often the first thing mentioned if you mentioned where you lived.
So a old jail, or something that defines the place you live. Would that be a OK, task?

well done Peter, that ferry looks good to me.
looks like a nice trip down to the harbour , hope you enjoyed the ride.
an old Gaol / Jail , that shouldn't be too hard a task , generally a place most of us avoid .
However some of our local ones have been turned into tourist attractions.
people actually pay to get in.
now who's up for Peter's challenge.

I did have to take a detour on the way home, but nice and close.

See your shortest/most useless jetty...and may I introduce the United Kingdom's shortest (and most pointless) pier.
Located at Burnham on Sea, Somerset, this tiny pier only gets it's piles wet for the briefest time at high tide. With a today's tidal range being 7.5m (24 foot 7 inches) - allegedly Burham has the second greatest tidal range in the world - those piles spend most of their time high & dry. Totally useless as a pier for water craft....but a great tourist attraction with all the fun (!) of a small sea side amusement arcade. Better still, you can watch a live web cam of the pier from anywhere in the world (yippee) at http://www.burnham-on-sea.com/webcam/
More interestingly, just down the promenade (i.e. boardwalk) from the pier is the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) inshore rescue hovercraft. This hovercraft is kept very busy during the summer season rescuing tourists and their pets from the sinking mud that lies temptingly between the sandy beach and the (invariably) distant waters of the Bristol Channel. More info at http://burnham-on-sea.com/barb/
and assuming that this short useless pier satisfies Ghosties request for a short/useless jetty.... I was going to put in a picture of the bike next to the BARB hovercraft and propose a lifeboat theme...only the hovercraft was not on display. Doh!
So I had to travel back in land to get a picture of the next challenge ....
...a windmill. This can be another wind turbine like this 2MW generator (hub height of 65m and rotor diameter of 70m) at Shooters Bottom Farm on the Somerset Mendip hills or a more classic grain grinding/water pumping version (big or small).

not a valid entry, however it reminds me of our ride to Far Cairn last Sept. the boys (Rosskko and Waz) so enjoyed themselves.
Although you cannot see their cheerful grins through their visors, you can see the hail falling. you thought they were sheep in the distance didn't you?
top day out!!!
Paul, it looks like your ride brought much kinder weather.Good on you for the effort.
