Ok all you Aussies time to get another get together going.
A while ago Gith mentioned Bingera as a suitable place. I know he puts on a good feed and BBQ so will we go ahead with organizing it and which weekend in October.
Not the last one as that is the Gatton swap meet and I an not going to miss that 2 years in a row there is just too much to spend money on.
Kiwis welcome if their bikes float (ever seen a brick float Ha Ha)

One thing about the last weekend in October, if that's what gets decided upon, is that Phillip Island MotoGP is on then, and it's a big one this year due to Casey Stoner's retirement, so the excess of bikes on the road will be going the opposite way from the majority of us. Plus, I'll likely be home by then, but prolly not the third weekend. Bingara NSW and surrounds are a great place to ride!

Can't make it last weekend...wife's birthday and pick up weekend for kid from uni. OK for other times.

Count me in, I can't make 1st w/e apparently some old fart is turning 60 and there is a surprise birthday party.
(got my order in for a full sized moveable mechanics tool box). Hope I don't get a hanky and a new comb.
Just got to look up where Bingara is and work some extra miles in around that.

As it's only a stone's throw from Guyra, I'll just pop out for a day ride and a cup of tea. Doesn't matter when it is.

I mentioned this to my wife. She thought it sounded like fun and I would have a good time (think that is wife code for 'see you when you get back').
I am going hard on getting the bike done, but I may have to call on someone close by (glances in the direction of Robertson) to assist with some of the re-assembly.

Mate, even if it was finished I think there would still be something to buy. Looking at mirrors and a chrome horn. Little bit of bling for the front. I think I will have to go looking at the mirrors. They do look different in the flesh. And will have to check the riding position. I have not had a dual seat before (single police seat) and I replaced the RT bars with I believe is the shorter RS? bars.

At the risk of sounding pushy...Has everyone had a think about which weekend would suit them best for this lil trip? Nic and I are in just need to know when...gotta book a day each side off..

Alby I'm easy except for the first weekend so we better make a plan for the others that suits you and I.
And Rossco anything that I can help with (given I'm just a bit ordinary compared to the rest) let me know.

Working furiously to get things back together so I can at least get used to riding again. It has only been 10 years since the old girl was road worthy.

One of my kids suggested I go for the old Commodore colour of Raven. It looks black until you get it in just the right light then it turns blue. Like a raven I guess.

A problem has arisen and that is that GITH wont be back here from US untill after the 3rd weekend but before the 4th. I am sure we would all like to see him and listen to where etc he went.

Has anybody got any objections to the 1st w/e in November which is 3rd and 4th.
Which w/e is not important to me but getting into November it could be getting hot out there.
I am throwing this in early in the piece so we can kick it around.

I have just returned from a ride to Copeton dam, I wanted to see it full or close. The only times I have seen it in the past there was a small stream cut by a huge stone wall with a lot of nuthin behind it.
I digress, I called in to the Imperial Hotel in Bingara and talked to the publican who says that the 1st weekend in November is the best so I am now calling it for keeps. It is the 3rd and 4th November 2012 just in case you old farts forget the year.

We will start the ball rolling here by starting a list of who is going or intends to go.

After a week or two visiting me daughter and younger brother I'll try to get out before the early snow flies and head South. This means it's down the East coast through Pennsylvania...



...along Skyline Drive and then the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee, North Carolina.



I'd like to visit my paternal side o' the family uncle & aunt (pronounced 'ant') in Biloxi, Mississippi, then roll across Lewz-ee-ana, stopping at N'awlins...



then scootin' cross Texas back to New Mexico where I lived in the '90s for about five years. "Took a wrong turn at Albuquerque!"



If the weather's crap I'll shoot across Arizona to Southern Calithumpia then up the West coast along Highway One....



....over the Siskiyous (in case of snow I'll follow Oregon's coast), then up to Seattle....



Dunno how long all of that'll take me but unfortunately I'm sure I won't be there by the October Gathering (which by now is the November Gathering). I guess I could be back by the middle to the end of the month, in which case I'll miss youse guys but there'll be another OZ K Forum get-together, the rate we Aussies are going. Goodonyas!

Just received permission for the trip......I mean I have decided to go....hopefully on K7.

Rossco, haven't made too many plans yet, I'm a bit of a free agent so depends on what your time availability is.
I definitely will meet up with you somewhere westish of the big smoke, maybe up Putty road, meet Rickmeister
again. (If that happens it means crossing the mountains 5 times zigzag before we get to the meet).
We also have Ainsjacastan and Sean 3 wheels to think of, so I'm open to suggestions.

I am keen to come along for the ride , chat, drinks etc....will keep an eye out for a confirmed date....I am also planning to leave from Sydney...Richmond to be exact and am looking at making the RS a bit more user friendly from a seating perspective....have raised the bars a bit and now some sheepskin perhaps.

Anyhow shall watch how things develop.

Hey RT, must be nice to be a free agent. I only mentioned you because I did not know of anyone else around Sydney who is planning the trip. Now I see we have Mr Klompy from Richmond keen for a ride.
My plans are basically leaving on Friday or maybe Thursday afternoon and coming back Sunday/ Monday. Depends on how sore my parts are.
It is my daughters birthday on the 31st so I am limited by that to when I can leave. I guess if you are taking a scenic route it will take a few days to get to Bingara.
Anyway, that is where I am at. I am coming from Castle Hill Mr Klompy (Mr Klompy sounds better than just Klompy) so if your plans are anything like mine we can see what we can come up with.

Looks to me like I'll be passing almost through Richmond Klompy, just depends on date and time for all of us.

Have been called Klompy for 35 years...real name John...but hardly anyone knows that sssshhh...Mr klompy sounds so formal and your cunning plan where you take consideration of your "nether" regions sounds ( a topic in my heart too ) a real possibility. Had a look at the Pub web site and it looks real accommodating.....so much nicer than a sheet of plastic at a bike rally and of course a bottle of Stones green Ginger wine as internal heating.
