Is it possible to replace the clutch pushrod boot without removing the rear wheel?

BooG, the simple answer is yes.

It is easier to fit the clamp if you fit a longer M3 screw, say 6mm longer. All the clamps I've seen need the screw to be clear of the thread before it will go over the gearbox flange and then you need three hands and a double-jointed shoulder to get it back together.

Good call! Thanks for that.
Just removed the boot...hardest thing is getting those circlips off the shaft to check the needle bearings!! Took the silencer off as well and that made it all possible.
Bearings look like they have dis-intergrated. Shaft is also worn along the bearing tracks.
Looks like I'll be needle filing them out and replacing!
