Can the rubber boot be fitted easily without removing the silencer?

Any tips / advice greatly appreciated before I attempt this job.

On the newer bikes with the one piece exhaust and the Catalytic converter (or space for it) it is much easier to just drop the exhaust. You need the space to drop the arm far enough to get the boot off.

If you can swing the arm down out of the way on yours you can fiddle it in there.
