Today The Rickmeister and steve1959,ster and me,ster all managed to sit down and grab a coffee at Bolwarra, Now that in itself was great but none of us managed to take a picture, bet we all had a phone with a camera on it with us. You would all know Rick by his yellow RT Steve has a very clean Maddison Silver Necked, 100 that is "necked as a jay bird" straight out of what ever lyrics that came from. I turned up in a car (oh the shame of it) but for an hour and a half we talked none stop, Coffee was great too, I dont know whether Steve or Rick had been there before but they picked a great place for coffee. Imense pressure was placed upon mine own bonce for the slackedness of the rebuild speed and must remedy that. Talk about make my day. yeah so much Kseries chatta it was truelly worth it, gotta do that again blokes gotta do it again. Steve's Maddison silver showed as Paint scheme 605 and looks spot on. Mine says 616 and they look identical, should have brought a panel along for checking. Better get cracking, Just thought i;d post this so we can skite. now aint that just like us blokes.

wednesday Steve1959, Rickmiester and myself all gathered at a coffee shop in East Maitland on melbourne st to have a chat and hand over the snap rings, dont know about the other two but I forgot to take a pic of the get together. 3rd time in a row. (must be a record by now) left Steve with the BMW manual to aid in his fathomings of his scoot, Rickmiester couldn't believe how much detail they put into in the book, Its only an A5 book but chock full of the good stuff. mind you i usually read it then go find out what the shortcuts are. bet that catches me ot one day. Oh everybody is welcome, but we will have to put some extra effort into our planning because at present we have not gotten around to posting the event before it happens, so moving forward and all that, we will have to post an invite as part of the plan.

Recently had the chance to meet up with some of the Hunter Boys at P'cinos in Melbourne Street, squeezed in an RDO- rare day off..
we were offered up a fantastic Autumn day, mid 20's clear sky hardly a breeze, just perfect.
they are a great bunch of guys, K info was rife and in abundance , along with some fine coffee.
Steve and I ran into each other again this week, shared a few more common interests, thanks Steve
.hopefully a chance for coffee again sometime soon with the guys.
will try to join up with Tom sometime in Newie. some top spots down there.

A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 00311

Tom , Steve, Rick, Ed ( and co rider Courtney)
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 00610

after our coffee, I thought I would make the most of what looked to be a great day , and took my daughter Courtney for a ride into Newcastle to enjoy some Gourmet Pizza on the waterfront,
and to check out the Ice Australia skating rink visiting from Geelong pier ( Victoria)

the lovely Newcastle Harbour .
the patterns on the footpath represent the masts of the tallships which once birthed in the harbour to load coal and wares.
Nobbys lighthouse can be seen in the background of each pic.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 03110A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys Kings-10

my first time on ice,
the guys from ICE Australia came to Newie and set up for a month, well done guys.
I won't show you the pic of me falling flat on my face. Embarassed
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 01410

the local council has my support regarding motorcycle parking , it's free and abundant , all others pay premium everyday.
the ferry ride awaits.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 05010

Newcastle is still very much a working harbour, coal, wheat and container ships await offshore daily to ply their trade.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 04410

just around the corner at Strezlicki lookout, the gliders have a great place to launch.
the ninja guy does aerobatics for the onlookers every time we visit.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 06410

these guys also offer tandem flights, as you can see below, thinking of booking sometime, what a buzz..
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 06710

Thanks for the invite Rickmiester, had a very enjoyable day . Very Happy Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

thanks everyone,
yes a top day out, not a long ride but certainly an enjoyable one , shared with family.
my eldest daughter likes riding on my bike as it has a broad comfy seat, compared to my wifes cruiser.
Sean ,I am a bit biased as well. Newcastle and the Hunter offer some fantastic places to ride and visit ,
but I do need to get out more and experience the scenery farther afield, as you guys have shown.
drawing up a bucketlist as we speak........... Tassie, NZ, NSW South Coast , NSW far North Coast .............

Mentioned to Steve the other day it would be good to get together for a local ride , Gloucester , Dungog , maybe a loop Scone , Gresford, Stroud or..... suggestions anyone?

Wandered into P'chino's this morning to meet up with the Hunter Kbike riders, and low and behold p'chino's is closed, gone, now called Vintage on melbourne but none the better for it as it was closed. Rickmiester was there also waiting for everyone to turn up, so we chatted for the 15mins or so we had to wait, We promptly changed track and went to the tourist information centre in Maitland to grab a coffee and gasbag on the tables out front, loverly coffee, met Gaz80 and caught up with Steve1959 and groverK, The weather was great, after yesterdays high 30's it was 25 if that and cooled by a little breeze, thus ensuring we took full use of it and chatted for 2hrs, only pulled the pin reluctantly as the little handbrake was at home waiting a shower and a redress of her heels. If I keep this nursy nursy stuff up i may become useful one day, still better might be able to finish the 75 so close to a top coat yet so many little bits catch my eye and back in I go to touch up that bit, then that bit, yep the coffee and a chat was worth every minute spent there. Thank you Groverk for organising it

8.00 am at Lochinvar, temp was about 26 degrees, with a slight breeze which provided top conditions for a short ride.
the starting line up at the pub.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 03210

Luskintyre bridge , and Steve leads the way.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 03310

some nice countryside not a great deal of twisties, but still enjoyable.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 20092810

Bolwarra lookout , looking East across to Morpeth  and Hinton. quaint little spot , but no coffee here so moving on.

A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 03910

Dunmore Bridge, Woodville , and Gaz keeping a tight formation.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 04210

Morpeth bridge , coming into Morpeth. Thats Gaz again.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 04510

Apart from old bridges we did take in some rather nice countryside.

Due to closure and new ownership of P'cinos, coffee time had to be moved to the local information centre, where we caught up with Rickmeister and Keith.
3 hours later we dispersed, still nattering with helmets on. it was good to catch up guys. thanks.
A Quick G'Day with the Lower Hunter Boys 04810

no rain , which made the morning even more enjoyable for all.

I made mention to Mr Klompy about riding up this morning, but thought it was only 2 of you (not that you are less worth seeing than the others Ed and Gaz).
If I had known it was a full blown meet I would have made the effort.
Instead I spent the day getting points at home.
2 baskets of ironing and the towels washed and folded.
Xmas decorations away and floors swept.
Last day of holidays. Joy.

Just to prove we are consistent, to my knowledge no-one took pics today when Rickmiester arranged for coffee at the Maitland Tourist Information Centre, Rickmiester, myself, Gazz80, Steve1959, Tom grabau dropped in at or about 9:00ish and had Koffee and a chat, mostly about Bikes and an interesting yack about Pirelli SKorpion tyres. Way too short a visit, but can't be helped, so lets hope we can get a Merry Xmass one in before next year. Taa very Much Rickmiester.

yes mate , It hit me on the way home from Guyra. I tried to outrun it as I came past Taree. all in all , faired well considering what struck the Hunter region.

on the way past Taree, looking west from the coast. Haven't yet put any wet weather gear on . I didn't want to lose time as I pushed through.

10 mins down the highway, and it wasn't looking any better for the rest of the trip home.

Yeah it was good to meet up with the Grabau brothers and Keith today in Maitland. One hardy soul/silly old bugger rode to the meeting point rather than come in the tintop (hang on! that was me) and after defying the forecast of some rain wearing a weather proof jacket but only jeans on the lower half I managed to arrive at the meeting place in good shape with just a little dampness around the knees.

Within a few minutes of ordering our koffees the "silly old bugger" proved to be the right description as the heavens opened and it pissed bucketed down. I dragged out the departure for home for as long as I could with faint hopes of avoiding a drenching but finally had to grit the teeth and brave the elements.

To answer Keith's question, yes I've thawed out now but everything below the waist was saturated on the way home.

I need to apologise to groverK that I didn't have my underwater camera with me today as he had given me specific instructions to "take piccies". Mate, I'll do my best to meet the expectation for photographic records on the next outing.

Despite the weather it's always good to catch up with fellow forum members.

Cheers

you're a brave man Gaz , good to hear ( not see , unfortunately) that Koffee went down well.  Always a good get together with the Krew, both near and far.
Sorry I missed the event . I'm pondering over a possible rear main seal at the moment , not sure when or how yet . being a novice with all things mechanical , it will provide for many hours of enjoyment, especially when I share it with you guys.

groverK wrote:yes mate , It hit me on the way home from Guyra.

5 mins from home , and this is what Keith was experiencing . Mt Sugarloaf and Cessnock in the distance just to the centre of pic.

very much a reminder of what we experienced on the Northern Tablelands ride .

Glad to see you met up.
