That reminds me of the "races" with the Flying Scotsman about 30 years ago in Victoria. Here they were crossing the top of the Great Dividing Range at Heathcote Junction. Although the cutting isn't spectacular like a lot of those up north, the cutting for the two broad gauge tracks on the right, was dug by pick and shovel, so a lot of pick handles and backs were broke to make that.

Lot's of cameras on the hill that day, probably no mobile phones though.

In rural New South Wales you often see a sign that says "look for trains". I think to myself, why, are they lost? Shocked

It is those thoughtful chaps in NSW Rail whom wish to keep you occupied in what would otherwise be a long and tedious journey.

You do still stop and wave at the trains when they go by?

I never see the trains,I believe that many of these lines have closed down. On the way back from that state they call Queensland (Kingsland?) I did also come across "Caution Koalas cross" signs. Why are koalas so angry? cheers

Near Ipswich the sign Koalas Cross here at night I would be too with all those fu***in trucks.
And the other one that amuses me is Falling rocks do not stop, if they don't stop when they hit the road they must be big buggers.

Rick G's post mentions "Falling Rocks" road warning signs. I ask myself what are we supposed to do. Perhaps duck?
