Total nube when it comes to the rivet gun for reattaching new latches, looked easy enough, separated the case, replaced the lock in the new latch, even crazy glued the bottom hinge slider that somehow cracked and separated (we'll see how long it lasts ) and I'm about to pop some rivets to hold the latch in place when the head of the rivet gun doesn't fit far enough inside the recessed hole, flush, so that I can pull the trigger. Curses. Should I give up and bolt it like Brickee suggests in the older post http://k100rt.aforumfree.com/t3378-what-size-pop-rivets?highlight=rivets
I'm not worried about rivets, I've heard others talk about them popping off on freeways causing havoc so they use screws/bolts, my latch has been loose for ages but once those locks are locked, rivets or bolts, these cases are solid. Or maybe I've just been lucky.
Question remains a). buy a new rivet gun with tinier head that'll fit b). hammer it in with a rubber mallet c). nut and bolts?
Appreciate your feedback,
