All of a sudden, the headlight, directional lights, running light, and instrument cluster backlights stopped working. The brake light works. The indicator lights (battery, temp, choke, etc.) work.
Any ideas? Thanks,
Dennis

p.s. (I haven't yet installed the new temp sensor I've been talking about in another post.)

Check your load shedding relay, relay coil is grounded through the starter brushes.

It heaps of info about it in here, if you search a bit.

I grounded the starter as per Charlie's suggestion and that did not change anything, so the starter brushes were not the problem. Then I swapped the horn relay with the headlight/load shed relay and everything works perfectly! I used the diagram in Paul Glaves article: http://www.ibmwr.org/ktech/relay-box.shtml

Thanks all,
Dennis
