Looking good scheffers, have you had it running yet?
Would be intersted to know how it goes with your modified air box intake etc.

Good transformation though, is there no end of possibilties with these bikes. Smile

Yes, I like the way the air box is treated... but I must say that the air metering electronics is VERY exposed to elements as well as accidental damage. Anyway, anything to get rid of two huge air boxes is welcome Smile

Yes Ned i agree. Have been thinking along similar lines as scheffer but would like to hear how his runs under load etc before i take the plunge. Be interested to see if how it has changed the running of the engine, if there is any power loss or change of torque range.

I rode the first 110 km's without any problems.. Now it's time to tune up the engine cause it 's running lean with the open intake and exhaust.
I've already ordered an adjustable feul-pressure unit (to set the pressure to 2,8-3bars)... now I wanted to ask you guys here for some advice on the injectors... is it wise to get these?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-K1-K100-K100RS-K100RT-K100LT-318i-Fuel-Injectors-Best-Upgrade-4-Hole-Spray-/190697516581?hash=item2c66752e25&item=190697516581&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

or should i get bigger ones?

Did you realize why the computer was named Hal 900?
H (next letter) = I
A (next letter) = B
L (next letter) = M
+ 9000 = IBM900

The mod of the AFM is great.

Fuel-Injectors...should I get bigger ones?

K1100 & K1200 injectors are the same and when I fitted K1100 TBs to my K100 I used a set of clean K1200RS injectors from eBay for twenty Australian shekels a piece. The spark plug's ceramics (colder NGK DP8EA) are once again a nice, light-coffee-with-lowfat-milk colour. I don't currently have access to a C02 analyser to confirm, but it runs very well and delivers reasonably good fuel mileage, the latter probably not an issue for you with this intriguing mutation - creation.

Hey Scheffers - i'm interested to know if you experience any vibration as is claimed by many of us, reason being that you have modified the exhaust manifold pipes, thoughts are that although many have balanced the clutch assembly parts and drivetrain with some success, it may well be the manifold causing vibration.

Shot in the dark??

It does still vibrate.. haven't got the chance to fully test it with higher pressure on the injectors...
I'm expecting my new 4-point-injectors this week also, should be an improvement..
The fuel-pressure is now +/- 3bar, it runs lik a mofo!!

Scheffers, WOW! What can I say. All I can think is this bike has the lines and the look that I've been searching for. I have never been big fan of the black airflow meter box under the fuel tank (and by the way, that's a great place for the battery, ...well done). I once saw a bike with individual K&N filters on the throttles and then another with velocity stacks but then the problem of what to do about the airflow meter. I don't know how one would by-pass it or simply make something to fool the computer into thinking that it is still there. Your solution is very clever and I do like it.
We (me and my son Matt) were also thinking about bending the tail section of the frame so as to raise it about 10 deg. I always knew that the lines were just not to cool looking but you seem to have found a solution for that problem also. We'll have to put our heads togehter to see what we'll decide to do about that. Either way, our tail section is going up a few degree's.
I'm truly enjoying your post.
Ed

So I'm having lunch at work and the new Spring 2013 BMW Motorcycle Magazine arrives. I open it up to look at the latest custom Beemers and who should be prominently listed but our man Scheffers hisveryownbadself. The article shows pictures and highlights the build. The glossy and well-written magazine can be had for $6.95 at North American BMW dealerships or possibly soon online at www.bmwmcmag.com . The website does not currently show the latest issue...

"One of these days I'm gunna hit the bigtime..."

Congratulations, Scheffers!

"One of these days I'm gunna hit the bigtime..."

Yes I think so too.
When I first became a member of this forum, Mr. Scheffer's build was/is the one that really caught my eye. In fact it's the inspiration for my build. I did have a few questions for him but I had difficulty registering to his website. I would love to pick the mans brains for a time but he's probably very busy... Building AWSOME bike and all...
