Yeah, the earth has a funny way of rotating like that. I think we're about 16 hours ahead (actually 17 hours ahead at the mo') of your West coast, during non-Daylight Savings Time for us. We may be upside down, but at least we're ahead of the curve.

Id go in a flash, got heaps of friends up your way and near Seattle too. Dunno, not likely this year with the new gig. Next time though I'll buy a second hand K bike and tour for a month or two or three, they're that much cheaper in the Land of The Free. And with all of these K bike experts on the forum, if I have a breakdown....the possibilities are endless.

Yeah, OG, we pay a bit more here on everything for the 'tyranny of distance', a smaller market as compared to North America and the EU, our friendly gubmint's taxes and just plain old fashioned greed. Motorbikes, unfortunately, are not excluded.

That yellow motorbike sure is looking purdy in her dainty skivvies. I'll bet she's a stunner dressed to the nines...Goodonya!

(Just an idea...blacked-out wheels with polished highlights contrasted against the black engine and remaining silver...dead sexy)

Ah, mate bent minds think alike! I was thinking along very similar lines, but the problem is I haven't decided on the final wheel set I'm going with as I very much want to go to the radials. Have thought about sending the originals to Kosman to have them widened and than powdered, but thinking I want to see how your experiment goes...

This one is very similar to the way I want the final version of the Bismarck to be.

Its just a high idle cable anyhow, so as long as you keep the revs up with the throttle until it's warmed up it shouldnt be a problem

Quick update guys. Waiting on a rebuild kit for the front master cylinder, some clips for the fuel injectors, and possibly the fuel rail pending a proper inspection. The number four injector was puking fuel when attempting startup. Sad

I believe he has to modify his equipment and wear elbow pads.

He must try the same with an electric bike (216 MI/h or 347 hm/h) Very Happy

Yeah, Charlie there is the o-ring on the top of the injector that interfaces with the fuel rail. I had all the those replaced when the injectors were cleaned and serviced. I got some new injector clips b/c they were .79 each and the number four one didn't clip in exactly like the others although at the time I thought it was fine. At least that is until there was VP fuel pissing all over my pants and shoe, lol! Embarassed Hopefully, tonight I will have a little time to check out the fuel rail and do some more trouble shooting...

bit theoretical at the moment og as the batteries are in a poor state

but it has done 60-80 kilometers between charges at up to about 100 kph with the gearing as it is. the motor pulls about 200 amps on acceleration from standstill .

he has been looking at lithium ion batteris and thinks he could triple the mileage ....but like all things cost is still high for someone outside the inner circles, although with the quantity he could order he could get trade prices ....or even import his own ?

i guess it will all happen when he falls out of love again ......

i believe there is a british guy making fantastic inroads in electric motors powering motor cycles with some new technologies in construction .would love to see his technology ,,,in fact i have a feeling the clip above could be his development ?

our sister research company (doing development in a new type of electric motor) ..is currently in a hole as far as reseach funding is concerned

A good trick with those O rings is to put petroleum jelly on the O ring and wrap very tight with insulation tape then put it in the freezer for an hour or so. This keeps the O ring compressed to a smaller size. Take the tape of then slip the injector into the hole very easily and when it warms it will be a perfect fit. you need to work quickly as they will warm fairly quickly.

I have used this trick many times to put the servo pistons in an auto trans back together and it works like a charm.

Holding fluids except for a small weep on the cam chain cover that I'm confident can be dealt with using my new favorite the Hylomar racing formula. Don't know about the fuel delivery until I have time to pull the plugs, but the engine vibration is hugely better so fingers crossed the over rich problem has been solved. Clip to follow as soon as my rommie schools me on getting the phone file converted. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me get this far. I recall JC liked a certain kind of strong ale and once a big smile came across his face when a thankful customer brought him in a tipple of single malt ...but it's been quite a few years now (at least seven) and we were work colleagues but not ever drinking buddies. Sorry, can't help with the details.

I'm with Chazza on this one...get her further sorted and roadworthy, then give her a gentle nudge followed up by a good rip once you feel she's willing and able. The pipes'll clear and we'll be able to see your smile from here.

"I will take her out and heat her up for real and than some evaluation can be done."

Out for a ride a while ago and came across a broken down Suzuki 750/4.

The owner was returning to bikes after the usual 20 year layoff (new boots, new jacket, new helmet gave him away too).

Out for a "shake-down" ride after reassembling his basketcase Suzy, carrying no tools, no mobile (cell) phone and not letting anyone know where he was going. Problem was a loose connection among the rat's nest of wiring stuffed inside the front headlight (he must have used a roll of green wire to rewire the bike with!). Took a while to find it, to say the least.

There's a lesson there for everyone boys and girls.
