Good evening  all, Ive been having starter clutch issues again so I decided to strip the ol girl down and pull out the starter and  change seals and what not as need while  I have her appart.....well that was the plan anyway. Im now unbolting the bell housing and managed to strip the last tork head bolt on the right hand side, that little sucker in the most difficult spot. does any body know a trick get it out?

Cheers  George

Been there, done that. Not a big deal.

Just drill the head off and once you remove the bellhousing there will be enough threads exposed to grab with pliers or Vise-Grips.

For others reading this: When removing the bellhousing Torx bolts it helps to heat them with a torch (not a flashlight.)

The one time that happened to me I took an allen bit of the right size (don't recall ATM, but M6 rings a bell), ground a short lead-in on each side and beat it into the torx head. The hammering would also have had the effect of helping to loosen any corrosion in there.

Hi, I've used screw extractors. Just get the size that is slightly bigger than the torx bolt hole. Lightly tap it into the the torx bolt. Then as you turn to remove the bolt the extractor tightens into the bolt and both come out.
