Recently I moved house, the removal guys were happy to put my K100RS in the truck if it was in bite sized pieces. 
The bike was immovable due to burnt out wiring harness (that's for another day)
I quickly removed all the plastic
wheels, forks, breadbox, tank, etc etc.
When I removed the drive shaft complete, from the tranny, tranny oil started to leak from the rubber boot on the clutch arm, I quickly drained the tranny oil. there were copious amounts of silicone sealer in the location.  
Is this normal? is the boot a seal?

Yes, this is normal and a new rubber boot, and clean up, is all that is required.
Transmission oil will leak from the clutch arm boot when it is not sealing correctly or the boot has a tear. Care needs to be taken when replacing the rubber boot and make sure the clutch cable is connected before securing the clamp ring at the transmission case.

Unless the rubber clutch boot is torn there is no need to replace it.

 It has a big spring inside of it which can tear it if the clutch arm is left loose with the clutch cable detached. You can keep the boot from both tearing and leaking if you use a zip-tie to hold the clutch arm up/in while the clutch cable is removed.
