Hi

I would like to refurbish my k100 fuel injectors and don’t know a reliable supplier of the o rings and filters.
Mr injector in the USA does not post to Australia and I’m not confident about quality control with ebay.
Thanks

Ebay will have them . A kit for an E36/46 318i will be the same or as I did bought a kit for an E32 V12 and have 2 spare sets which I have since used.

That's my mistake there Gabriel what Inge said is correct. I have not been having good days lately NMSD (No Motorcycle Stress Disorder)
I will delete the posts that are wrong.
On the portal page there is a link to EME who has the correct leads and I have heard that RAM (realm eng) in UK has them.

gabriel you can get the bosch leads loose on the rack in appropriate lengths from all the usual places

they are made as the same design as magnacore leads , that being they are a combination of silicon substrate inner core with an inductive - thin wire lead built in the core , they measure about a bit over 5k per metre so the short one (no 3) will likely measure about 2.5 k tip to tip  no1 and 4 are the same length  and are about 5.2k  from memory

they cost about 5-8 dollars each  and have been working great on gerty , without issues at all for the last 7 or 8 years  , including riding in extremely wet weather , mud and all the rest    they dont have the right angle top hat at the plug . but i haven't found that as an issue at all

this is my suggestion if your doing it on a budget ,  if you want the real leads , i suggest you will be looking at quite a few to find ones without issues as the plug top connection is invariably corroded ( forgotten bobins ?) or become intermittent at the join inside (bad handling )

They're sold through BSK Speedworks now but it used to be Realm Engineering. The leads are made by a third-party who pretty much does them to order. I was talking to Realm Engineering about two years ago and was told then that they wouldn't be supplying K-leads any longer.

Hi there,
If you know exactly what you need, this maybe worth to check: Finjector. Worldwide shipping.

I took one injector with me to that shop and got all needed parts. I am sure that you have similar shops there.

Actually, you can get the rebuild parts, o-rings, filters, and pintles at a good auto parts shop.  I know in the U.S. that NAPA has them.  If I recall, the K bike injectors use the same parts a bunch of 80's and 90's Fords.  Just take an injector with you so they have something to match.

Hi

I appreciate your info and hope all is well for you.
I can’t believe how quickly time is passing, and how old age is creeping up on me….so depressing for me…..not much I can do about that……
I’ve decided to get my bike back on the road….It’s difficult to source parts, especially in Australia……..”the tyranny of distance” lol.

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Same goes for everyone else who replied.

I hope you don’t mind me asking did you put those leads together or did you buy the individual components?
I’d like to do something similar.
Any particular store?

There seems to be a lot of misinformation about HT leads.
This is what I figured out from the internet…the k100 2v use leads which have a 5k ohm resistor in the cap.
The Bosch web site lists the x5dc and xr5dc as having an internal “glass enclosed resistor” …..
So confusing………
As for the fuel injectors, Mr injector sells them but doesn’t post to Australia…..so frustrating…..hello EBay?

Hi.

I managed to locate a part number for the spark plug caps.
Does anyone know a parts number for the k100 coil end of the ignition leads?
Thanks

Gabriel, you can buy the injector refurb parts from ebay. I get a set for a V8 and then have a spare. They're just standard Bosch EV1 parts. These ones are Viton rubber as well.
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192376134721

Also this is a handy Fuel Injector Flush Cleaner Adapter. I've used this a few times and it works well. Worth giving your injectors a flush while they're out whether you think they're ok or not imo.

I have one of those flushing kits as well, and it works a treat.

Instead of a battery, I connect the injector to a toy train or doorbell transformer.  The alternating current vibrates the armature in the injector helping it to bust loose any dirt that may be stuck in there.

Because the transformer is putting out a higher than normal operating voltage compared to the bike's ECU it helps bust loose a stuck armature.  You just need to be careful to only apply the power for a second or two at a time to avoid overheating the coil in the injector.

Point-Seven-Five,  you might want to try to put a diode in series with one of the lines going from your transformer to the injector.  That will halve the frequency, and ensure only positive pulses go to the coils.  It will still deliver 17V peak to the injectors, but it might reduce the heat accumulated during the test.

Rob, no problem with heat.

I only hit the injector with the AC for a couple seconds at a time and there is a fairly large amount of cleaner being sent through it providing cooling.  The idea is that the injector is activated and flushed for a couple seconds and then sits for a few minutes to allow the cleaner to work on the internals before the next shot.

Ever since Radio Shack went out of business it's been a pain in the ass to get parts.  At one time Western New York was one of the high tech parts of the U.S. with GE, Sylvania, RCA and a bunch of smaller electronics companies, but that ended about 50 years ago.  With modern disposable electronics all the parts and service providers are out of business and it's impossible to find much beyond a toggle switch or a 12 volt light bulb around here anymore.

Hi

I’m not convinced.
This is one of many companies which list tens of thousands of electronic components.
RS electronics, Element14, Farnell.

The thought of spending $5 for shipping and handling to get a 25 cent diode is beyond ridiculous to me.  I just don't do enough messing about with electronics anymore to make mail order parts appealing.
