Final list of 10 expected people back in post 35, as edited. In some cases, the last communication I've seen dates back to December, so I hope its still correct. Any changes not accounted for in post 35, please let me know. Even room for one more at the pub if needed. Smile

We'll miss those who had hoped/planned to come but for various reasons weren't able to.  Sad

When I was there last month, Walwa pub didn't open till 3pm, so anyone there before that will be cooling their heels for a bit. If you get there before I do, let the publican know you're part of the Bill Irvine group.

Reminder - no Optus at Walwa, so if you have the choice, bring a Telstra phone, or a carrier that uses Telstra's network.

See you there.   cheers

Bill

I wish I could go, but alas not this year.

However if anyone is looking for a billet/transit stop/ coffee break etc around Bathurst on the transit North/South or South/North on return feel free to call in with me and Marie.  Definitely beds and floor space available and plenty of space for the bikes too.  We're in Kelso just off the road to Sofala.

Fairly long ride today, but we had good weather, interesting roads, good accommodation and food and good fun.

The thing that really made it was the good company.

Some well earned rest is being taken before people start their homeward journey, ranging from me to Goulburn to Stanthorpe and Brisbane with multiple places in between.

Thanks, everyone for a great time and for your friendship.

Bill

Home again at lunch time today after having enjoyed another southern run thanks to Bill's efforts in organising route and accommodation.

Good choices and having two nights in the one place either side of the main loop ride day certainly works for me.

After the overnight in Young on Thursday I bolted at 6:15am Friday on a solo run just so I could get an hour riding in the dark to sample the night time effectiveness of the newish LED lighting I had installed on the G650GS (actually needed to leave that early to get down to Bright in time to enjoy a couple of hours in the company of dear friends who I haven't seen since before the Great Covid Outbreak). Finally got away from Bright around 3:30pm headed for the meeting point at Walwa. Had a comfort stop near Tallangatta and saw a text message from Bill advising that dinner orders started at 6:00pm and closed at 7:30pm in case I wanted to eat dinner with the Krew, so I had to make it a short stop and get going again as our friends in uniform in Victoria have zero tolerance to riders who might be hurrying along a bit. Duly made Walwa at 6:00pm and settled in for some hydration and good company.

Bill had obviously spoken nicely to the weather Gods as it was perfect for the whole trip - not too hot, not too cold, just right (I think I've heard that phrase somewhere before  scratch ).

Round trip for me was 2,240km. Thanks everyone.

That was one of the best rides I've had. Great location. So many awesome bends! Good pub and I agree Gaz, it was a good idea to have 2 nights in the one spot. Thanks for organising that Bill. Very much apreciated.
It was great catching up with everyone again. Looking forward to next year. Maybe we can do the same again.

Leaving Walwa, I made my way back to Wagga Wagga for a few days and then up thru Young, Cowra, Bathurst, Bell and on to the M1 to Newy. It was one of my longest rides and was knackered when I got home.

Side note: Bill... as discussed, I had lost my room key and was going to pay the hotel a $20 fee but fortunately it was found at the petrol station over the road and handed in to the general store.  Very Happy
Cheers Nige
