Is anyone here riding an RT / LT fitted with fallover bars? If so, would you be kind enough to measure the centre point of the crashbar hole using the lower edge and front edge as reference points?

Thank you.

I have a set of K100 here Dai but one has a rewelded foot on it . I have a good k1100 set (I think the ruber mounted plates differ for the bars bit the ) Did you want measurements for the mounting plates?

Hi Will

I've got the bars, it's just that the RT legshields I have don't have the hole in them where the fallover bars bolt to the top of the engine. I was looking for the offsets for the centre of that hole from the front edge and from the lower edge, so I could threaten the RT legshields with a Black&Decker DeWalt.

Now I come to re-read the OP, I can see where it could be misleading.

The 'leg shields' as in bottom part of RT fairing....one of mine happens to have the drill out location for the engine bars moulded in on the inside face.

That'll cost you 2c...but since they introduced rounding to the nearest 5c....glad to be of service. But you have to drill the lead hole from the inside then use a fine hole cutter for laminates from the outside using the lead hole. I am sure you have an alternative means but just flagging it for anyone else making those holes. Of course one could put a grommet in for a 'finished' look.

I hate those step borers - prefer to buy the individual drill bits.

Okay. I admit I did think about it but I'm not paying that price for one job. 5mm chain-drilling followed by a 30mm 2nd-cut half-round file here I come...

No worries Dai . I was just having a quick look - could've been my speed reading that led me astray!
