Has anyone dropped the gearbox with the swingarm attached?

I’ve pulled the RH fixed pivot but the LH adjustable has locked solid about half way out. I’ve epoxied a lock nut onto the shaft and waiting for that to set overnight to see if it will shift with a socket (already stripped out the 6mm allen hole).

If I cant move it in the morning I need to get it on the bench. Is it possible to drop the tranny with the RH lug removed?

I’ve tried all the normal routes, heat, vice grips, double locking nuts etc.

My last, in situ, shot is to drill the stub and run a bolt through it but very reluctant to do that and destroy whats left of what can be gripped

I've never done it but there should be no reason why you can't remove the transmission with the swing arm on it.

Be sure the clutch cable and gear switch are disconnected before you do it.

When I did the rear main seal we took off the entire rear end unbolted off the bell housing as one complete unit and rolled it back on the rear wheel. One hour to get it off. No problem. 84 K100RT no ABS.

As said you need to make sure all the stuff is disconnected like rear wheel sensor and gear position indicator wiring. I reckon needs two to get it off in one unit but works very well.
