From all I’ve read I thought the right hand pivot would be the biggest problem. It was stuck but I solved it.
However the LH is a nightmare. I’ve seen one post that says they can get cross threaded. Anyone seen this, and what was the solution please?
The lock nut came off easily, but turning the hex got gradually tighter the further out I unwound it.
Long story short, the LH trunnion will not wind out any further than what seems to be the end of the thread at the inside end and so won’t clear the swing arm. During this process I have rounded the allen socket so now stuck.
I’ve ordered a used trunnion pin (pretty certain that any solution will trash the old one) and 2 used locking nuts to see If I can get it turning again with a 27mm socket. failing that I might grind some flats into the threads and try a spanner.
Anyone encountered, solved, this problem?
