G'day forum,
I'm having trouble removing the O ring on the output shaft in order to release the clutch housing on my 84 K100 RS. The Haynes manual says to remove the retaining nut and shouldered spacer which I have done. Next it says "grasp the housing in both hands and move it back and forth along the shaft splines until the O ring can be reached and removed with a pointed instrument. I can only get the housing to move a short distance and am not able to get at the O ring.
Questions: how far do I have to move the housing towards the motor to be able to get at the O ring? What's the best method to do this?
Is there another way to get the housing off the splines to replace the O ring and rear oil seal?
Looking forward to some suggestions
Regards
Leon
