1 Valve Shim Stuck in bucket - what to do Thu Aug 15, 2019 5:51 am

I think I have botched a shim change. After removing a too tight shim, my replacement shim is still too tight after installation. I now can't remove the new shim - the shim is stuck in the bucket and all attempts to remove it are to no avail. I suspect I am the cause of the problem - when fitting the new shim it was not fully seated into the bucket recess - It was partly sitting on top of the protruding outer part if the bucket - I rotated the cam lobe and the shim then clicked into place in the bucket - I suspect I have caused the bucket metal to spread and the shim is now refusing to budge. I would prefer not to have to remove the camshafts and / or pull the head to fix this - any advice?
