Ran into a bloke yesterday I've known for years but haven't seen in the same. He asked after my K bikes and was I still riding those agricultural devices. I always liked his younger sister, so later on I sent him this video.

I challenge anyone to watch the entire video before going absolutely stonking barking pull yer hair out mad.

It's not a real tractor until you put a Russell Day Long Seat on it.

They are truly ugly.

Maybe they are comfortable, but it doesn't make up in any way for the fuglyness.  Might be OK if you only ever rode your bike on total moonless nights far away from the chance of actually being seen.

My K13GT came with one fitted, in stylish grey and black, all bat winged, plush and evil looking. The original seat was supplied, too. I swapped them and got $400 on eBay for the Day Long seat. The slender and flat original is a Teutonic torture slab. I knew immediately why the original owner didn't use it. I cover its la flaca flanks with a sheep skin for a modicum of comfort. I can ride for two hours now, instead of half an hour previously. 'Beauty must suffer,' she said.

Comfortable?  There's no maybe about it.  I tried a couple of different used ones on my K1100LT (which, although a GREAT touring bike, is a hideous looking beast to start with IMO) and they worked pretty well.  Then several years ago I finally gave in and got in on a winter group buy to get one custom made to fit me for $350.  It's really a fantastically comfortable seat.  Best motorcycle money I ever spent.  (But I still wouldn't put one on anything but an LT/RT.)

I have one on my RT, and for some perverse reason it actually looks good on the bike when all the luggage and the tank bag are installed.  Gives it that ready for a coast-to-coast run look.   My seat does not have the checkerboard quilting, which IMO just doesn't look right, but it can come in handy for impromptu games of checkers.

Don't Call my K Bike a Tractor! Dscn3210

Although it was made for someone else, I can easily do 14 hours straight on my bike and still walk at the end of the day.  My only complaint is that it raises the seat height a bit on a bike that is already pretty high.

Let's face it, the RT/LT was not designed for track days.

The one I had built for me is higher and farther back than stock, works really well for my 34" inseam and also keeps my knees from banging the fairing when I have knee armor on.
