1 An odd turn of events in mucky Somerset.... Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:11 pm

I recently rode to Somerset as my elderly Father was not in great health.
The journey from Taunton to Bath is a tedious and unforgettable journey via the back roads, thanks to my sat
nav.
The weather was crap, it was late at night and all the local tractors had decided to dump
as much muck on the roads as they possibly could.
Finding a dry patch of road at night on unfamiliar roads was tiring to say the least.
At least I could rely on the bike to get me to my Daughters place, or so I thought.
I was stuck behind a shit wagon for few miles, and then I had the chance for a quick
safe overtake .
Second gear and open her up to around 7k revs and quickly got past the muck spreader.
Then, the battery light came on, no speedo, tacho , gear indicator or fuel gauge .
I managed to find a garage with an overhang .
There was a chap returning to his car, he asked about the K100 and somehow we got chatting.
He had four Ducatis , and we discussed the merits of our particular marque.
I checked the fuses, and number one had blown.
A new 7.5 fuse went in, and all was good again.
I said goodbye to the chap , and as I was pulling out, I heard him trying to start his car.
He was keying it for ages, and it just refused to start.
I almost felt guilty.....
almost.
