Am rebuilding a k1100 the centre stand to fit on my 87k100.  On disassembly there was only a circlip on the left hand side centre stand bush.

This is also all that is shown on RealOEM fiche and I question why there is not one on both sides when the bush and bolts are the same part numbers.

I can only assume the right hand side bush gets bottomed out and the left hand side is "taken up" to the depth the circlip will allow????

seen that a few times

likely to do with the stretch of the centre stand as it is lifted ,
you would think that they might put a spreader bar near the top to stop that stretch happening .

While your at it fit grease nipples to both stands if not already fitted.

All K1100s came with those from the factory.

Thanks Duck I had to fit mine and a mates 4V K100 had the holes no nipples and no plugs. Strange things happen to Bricks over the years, so it's worthwhile checking that they are still there.

The centre stand has grease nipples, and there is one on a bush on the sidestand bolt, but, not the bush in the centre of the sidestand.  I think the outer bush is what actuates the centre stand switch, but, I wont be using this switch.
