hi..i have a 1986 k100rs . i want to put k100rt or k75rt handlebars onto my bike due to elbow problems to give me a more upright riding position is this possible,, and what changes will i have to make IE cables and other stuff.. kind regards..jim

yes its quite easy
just plain old spannering for the most oart
Mines an RS with RT fairng bars and bits on
Apart from the furniture you need to get a longer front brake to master cylinder
brake hose
I got one made up locally
a longer RT type clutch cable (bins or works will supply those
I dont recall fitting a longer throttle cable on mine but it may be needed.

I hated the too low, too skinny for me RS bars!!!!
and much prefer the higher wider RT bars

I meant the hose between the master cylinder and downpipe in the yoke
its short on the RS and needs to be about 4" or so longer for RT bars

As I recall, wiring was more or less one for one
I used my RS pad and ignition switch rather than the RT one
cant quite recall if I got a longer choke cable, I think I did
its been a while


Comfy? yes i think so
its more up right and also I found it more biddable at low speed where I used to feel
I was struggling a bit with the RS bars.
maybe its me but they felt too narrow and the bike felt very heavy at low speed
and i wasnt at ease with it.
Everyone has their own preferences with bikes bars seats and all that
but I'm glad I did it and found I enjoyed riding it more
