Below is from him and all i know about the bike, i have seen it a couple of times and its always clean and well looked after.
K100RS 12/85
Spare bike is 10/89
I have owned the K for the past 13 years. It has been regularly serviced, maintained and garaged at both home and when ridden to work. As mentioned to Murry, I am finding it a bit of a handful these days due to its size and my long suffering back. Too many years bent over in engine bays and heavy lifting in the workshop. Fortunately I got off the tools sometime ago now however backs seldom forgive, but never forget.
The bike is well sorted and totally reliable. In fact it has never let me down. I have the original fairing however I removed it to avoid any accidental damage and is stored out of harm's way. The clutch and drive splines as well as the front wheel, swing arm and steering stem bearings have been inspected and repacked as part of routine maintenance. Although The bike has covered 150,000 kilometres it still rides and handles quite well. When last serviced in July 2021 I checked the compression pressures and found them to be still at OEM spec - an even 145psi on each cylinder. Valve shims are all within spec as well. Throttle bodies balanced (air bypass screws only) Blue paint on the throttle spindle linkage is still visible.
The other bike was bought mainly for spare parts and at one stage I was thinking about fitting a sidecar. This bike belonged to a mate of mine who is no longer with us. Where he was going he had no need for it. At the time it was running and registered when I brought it home. I then had three bikes and couldn't justify all the rego and insurance so one had to go. Over time I have taken some parts from the other bike and put them on my K. However there are enough parts on hand to get it running again. The cam cover and chain cover have been removed as I was concerned about condensation forming in these areas during long term storage. Both areas have been kept covered and no rust has formed on any of the cam lobes or other parts that make up the valve train.
I would like $3000 for the lot however am open to negotiation.
