Starts fine  all else seems fine. Just won't rev up . Bought it like this . Any suggestion?

Hi Tony

Don't be afraid to ask questions, we all had to start somewhere on these and sometimes the question you don't ask is the one that causes you trouble.

If bike is starting AND ticking over ok you may well have an issue with the throttle cable having come awry inside the handlebar mechanism. Clearly you are getting fuel and spark so don't go chasing in there just yet. The handlebar mechanism has a chain inside it that needs an occasional lube and if incorrectly maintained you can end up with..........no throttle. If you can see the other end above the injector rail you will see where the cable ends and there is an adjustment screw/stop where it rests at idle. You should see this lift when you turn the throttle. If it doesn't, use your finger to see if it lifts and if it does lift fire up the engine and do it again. If it revs for you then check out the handlebar mechanism.

sounds like a fuel pressure thing

in no particular order ...fuel filter , pump , pressure regulator , could be an afm issue as well ?

I would try disconnecting the throttle position switch first off ...I think we saw a similar issue here before .

Check the air filter it's a great place for rodents to nest Quite likely it's full of something else other than air filter, that is if the little buggers haven't eaten it as well.

The cable is operating fine checked and lubricated. I think it may b fuel or air flow related. I couldn't start it this time round . Battery died and I'm puzzling to find where iv stashed my battery charger . Getting old I guess

Could be a poor response from the FICU due to low voltages from a bad battery.
If your battery has died I'm guessing your charger won't help one bit. If it measures less that 12.0V across the terminals its most probably cactus. Buy a sealed AGM battery around 25Ah and about 280-300cca

Failing that I'd replace the AFM with a good secondhand unit.

I believe the Bosch ECUs wont work if supply voltage is below 9v so the not starting may just be that when you have tried to start with a low battery the ECU just isn't working and not faulty.
To me this is looking like a low fuel pressure issue. Probably pay to check the pressure. Best quick check is to hold your thumb over the outlet and the pressure should be enough to push your thumb away or be very hard to stop the flow and make sure theris a good flow back to the tank from the return line.
