Any body got any suggestions on how to remove the paint from one of these k75 plastic fender/mudguards?

I'm thinking paint stripper might be too much for the plastic?

Its organic paint so water is the solvent I'm told, must be a safe paint stripper for it, though I used wet 600 grit chasing a dogs tooth marks and went right through to the fender so the paint isn't that thick, went through in no time

I have just finished painting the front guard on the K75RT and had to sand the original paint as I was told not to use any stripper. You will need to use a special primer on the plastic so the paint doesn't react with the plastic. It's called an adhesion primer and is clear, goes straight onto the plastic.
When I sanded the front guard on the K1100 it had 9 colour coats plus primer and clear for each coat, took a few days and all the finger prints to do it.

Safest way is to use wet and dry. Paint stripper as opposed to the other type of stripper may be too harsh. Then again the the other stripper may be harsh as well.

Bu$$€r! Thats what I was afraid of. Think I'll get a replacement as there is a kink in that one and it's never going to be perfect.

There are many types of plastics so test a small area out first.

I can see it's not sitting square and if plastic does that it is hard to fix and probably not worth the time

You Irish confuse me...are you planning to drink the paint stripper?
I found it confusing when I was in Ireland in 1996. The speed signs were being changed to metric, but my hire car had an imperial miles speedo....it is all right officer I was only doing 100.

Did you add the 100kph on the left hand sign to the 50mph on the right hand sign and convert to imperial giving a total target limit of 112.2 mph? Works for me anyway...but I'm good with numbers  :geek:

Stop it...  Dan Murphys has Lagavulin 16 year old on special till midday tomorrow for AUD80.  That is an absolute bargain and $10 cheaper than duty free.  I recently purchased a bottle on special for $85.  Sad Normal retail is around $105.

For those are not up to speed on their whiskies, it is an Islay heavily peated single malt Scotch Whisky.  Rich and smokey.

I was camping in France in a little place called Orouet which would be on the route down to La Rochelle. Met these English guys who also had kids with them. Anyway they decided to have a water pistol fight with our lot. Was fine until we went to our camping trailer and took out some serious powerwashers Supersoakers which I had packed without telling the kids. So they invited us over to try some Scotch and it made us feel at home......peaty to the last and awesome. Took the after effects while to diminish.

But, in Ireland a bad whiskey is often referred to as paint stripper. Sometimes it comes with a name 'Paddy' on the bottle. It's kept in houses in rural Ireland for cakes and baking and the not liked visitors. The liked ones would be served a Powers Gold Label.
