Some good posts and photos already up by other members of this morning's gathering so here are another couple to add to the collection. This meet up must be getting close to the Irish Eccentrics number since we didn't make it for the earlier attempt at Eden.

As expressed by Bill - its a great group to be a part of as indicated by me climbing out of a warm bed at 5:00am to hit the road at 5:45am heading into a dark drizzly morning (probably like any other morning in the other hemisphere where forum members reside) on a two hour trip into the heart of our largest city. For a country boy like me, riding into downtown Sydney on a Saturday morning is not what I dream of, however catching up with members from previous rides and meeting some in person for the first time definitely is. Other members there today travelled similar distances and time as Ed, Tom and I from the Hunter Valley.

The photos we took at the brick works to begin with kept getting out of date as more members arrived but I thought I'd add one taken from the other end of the lineup.
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_1516

As you already know, groverK (Ed) is our artistic director whenever he is present and I want to prove that he will get down and dirty to get the right shot, or was he just a little fatigued from the ride down (don't worry about the wet ground as he still has his wet weather gear on).
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_1512

After greetings and a bit of a K chat we were led off a short distance by local lads to a nearby cafe for coffee (note the lack of the correct forum spelling due to the fact that this establishment does NOT serve skones). Nevertheless it was a happy bunch around the table.
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_1515

We dodged the showers on the way home with just a bit of spray from the wet road to contend with.

Thanks to those that organised the day and I'm sure we are all looking forward to the next one.

Cheers

G'day All, Yes it was a great morning especially meeting up with a couple of blokes I haven't met before. Missed Rosskko's red beast though bur B2's red beast was certainly impressive.Had a good run home  (apart from the Newtown to bridge traffic) but did get wet about 20k from home. Thanks for the meet up. Cheers Tom

In keeping with RossKKo's tradition of Koffee in May in the big smoke , thought I might make a suggestion of meeting at Blues Point Reserve ( McMahons Point ).
Thinking of mid to late May , anyone else keen ?

Sadly, I have a prior commitment for the Bathurst run in late May, so if another gathering was on in May, not 13th (another prior commitment), I'd be happily in.

Hey Ed. I'd be up for that but I think I would want to be well out of the city by early afternoon. Peak traffic starts to ramp up about 2pm and my Sweet Thing does not like bumpa t'bumpa traffic and I reckon at that time of day on a Friday it'd be a good hour and a half to get out to Richmond. Normally 3 1/2 hours from the city to Mount P [edit+>] becomes a 4 to 4 1/2 hr trip.
I'm thinking I might stop at Tarana Pub for lunch.
Cheers

Thanks for the inside info Nigel. I can usually make it to Lane Cove in 2hrs from Newcastle, on any weekday .
We might be able to revise it to 9.30am for Koffee and pic.
Westward on M2/ M7 to Richmond , onto the Bells Line Rd to Lithgow , then Tarana Pub for lunch .

The Tarana Pub makes for a good meeting point before reaching Bathurst.

Another consideration Ed is that on 26 May the Sun sets in Bathurst at 5.04pm.

I'm good for 9.30am at Kirribilli

Bugger Richard , I know how it feels . It's rare for me to get a day off in the week .
Lets see how it goes , it is only a suggested date at this stage .
Keep an eye on it , as it may come back in your favour .

During our arvo session at the Throttle Roll , Richard and I discussed a possibility for this weekend , 6/7 .
I have some appointments scheduled , but could be possible to work around them if any one else is interested in a meetup .
Sunday lunch may be my best shot at this stage .
I see we also have a few new members , this may be a good chance for a proper welcome .

Thanks Richard , good to hear from you Michael,
The battery is getting a charge up as we speak , too much idle time is making it lazy .
Plan is to meet at Blueys Point Reserve, Mc Mahons Point , depending on who arrives , koffee will be at Kirribilli or a run up to Church Point could be in order.
How does 12 noon tomorrow at Blueys sound ?

Smithy , it was a top weekend to be out on your bike anywhere . I see you enjoying yourself at the Gloucester Expo with Gaz .
Nigel ( Holister) , Richard (Basic 2) and myself had the opportunity to greet Michael into the forum fold , with a photo session on the Sydney Harbour .
I have to warn you my pics are fairly amatuerish to what you may see from Nigel . We all had a go at taking pics . So hopefully a varied angle from each .

Here are some of mine .
I managed to arrive just ahead of our fellow krew , so I took the opportunity for solo pics at Blues Point Reserve.
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7014

Found myself an old disused bunker to peek out from .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7010

The krew starting to assemble at Blues Point . Holister and Michael .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7011

Nigel being our photographic choreographer for the day took control of the situation .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7016

couldn't pass this one up . Anzac Bridge in the distance behind the horizon .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7015

Nigel putting his new found skills to work .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7013

peering into the side of Holisters 96' 1100RS , Sweet Thing that is , it became obvious the later edition of the 1100's were redesigned in the battery compatment .
I don't know if this was to be of any benefit.
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7012

Yes RossKKo was with us today , on his home turf .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7112

Time for Koffee ....
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7110

After an hour and a half of posing , we were all fairly famished and required refreshments .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7113

Oh BTW did I mention we would be taking pics of one of our greatest assests , the Harbour Bridge . K bikes included .

Couldn't prolong the Koffee , so it was a quick dart up to the Koffee strip in downtown McMahons Point .
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_7111
Plenty of K talk , with some R's in there as well from our newly befriended Michael .
It was good to meet up and share our views on the various K's on offer today. Cheers all .

Bugger Warren. I was going to text a reminder but forgot. Catch up with you for coffee in Chatswwod later this week.

While we were setting the bikes up and having a chat by the water, ther was a Sydney Bus waiting for the ferry to arrive. The driver had got out and was standing on the footpath checking the bikes out. Turns out he owns a K1100RS. He obligingly took this group photo for us.

Great meet up and beautiful weather too. Brings even more great memories of my visit, flooding back - getting far too nostalgic in my old age!

Good to hear that one of the latest NSW new recruits (Michael) was able to make it and meet with some of the Krew

Nice set of pics...now, if I was to continue the game of "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours" - i'd leap on one of my bikes and race up to Newcastle upon Tyne and get a photo op with the Tyne Bridge in the background (a very similar, but smaller version of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge). I couldn't guarantee the same blue sky and water though...Newcastle upon Tyne is famed for it's brown ale for a reason...affraid

Never say never though...I think I might be coming down with another dose of KPox, that may lend itself very nicely to an opportunity in the next few weeks!! Renting a house with more garage space and workshop might have had something to do with it!!

Wooooo.. spooky man!   I put a couple of snaps on facebook of the bikes near the harbour and immediately my dear friend from Pilton in Somerset commented. I called her up on the phone last night but she had to rush off to collect her grandson from the station at  CASTLE CARY!!  Your home Born Again!

Weird eh?

Spooky indeed! It sure is a small world.

Just 6 weeks until Pilton gets busy with the 2017 Glastonbury festival and 180,000 visitors descend on Worthy Farm.

A request has been sent across the globe from the Krew of the Kfest in the UK .
It is suggested that in alignment to the Kfest weekend , that some of the Aussie krew gather together on the 12-13 May, possibly for Koffee.
A special parcel will be provided to help celebrate this event with our kamerades.
Hope we can get a few together to help celebrate with them .

That's a busy weekend here in Oz with Mother's Day - some people may have to have diplomatic negotiations before heading off on two wheels. Also I think Loaded Dog Rally at Tarago.

Also it's the weekend before the tentative date for a "Return to Nindigully" ride.

A thought for a gathering might be on the hill at Mt Panorama in Bathurst - Rosskko's anniversary is two weeks later, Saturday 26th May.

Just random thoughts.

So right there Gaz , as always , we here in the southern provinces of the globe enjoy some of our best rides in May .
Some prior committments for me provide limited time availability at this stage . Not sure that I can make Bathurst, but it sounds good  ( so will keep it as an option ).
Bit tight for me, especially in the lead up to the Bikers Biggest Morning Tea at the Grey Gum Cafe on 26/27th May , my way of a personal tribute to John Grace ( owner of Grey Gum Cafe) , RossKKo and close members of my family.

any other thoughts .

well it is now May , and in keeping with the tradition of this thread , its time to rally the Krew for a Koffee.
As previously mentioned , the UK krew are getting together next weekend for the Endurance Legends event at Donington Park .
To help celebrate this event on an international scale , K1 fest organisers have kindly sent across several parcels to share amongst the Krew , one of those is currently with myself , the other already being shared by Charlie . and will continue on to Nindigully.
Next weekend on the 12th May , I will be driving down to the Grey Gum International Cafe to prepare a few things for the Bikers Biggest Morning Tea.

The connection here will be , Paul BAE will be handing over several "Evolution" t shirts for auction at the K fest in the UK.
Of course , it was back in April 2016 that Paul ( BAE) visited the Grey Gum Cafe for Koffee , and so would be very fitting to align ourselves with Kfest there .
There is an Evoluion of the K theme being presented at Kfest so be sure to bring your shirts.

Thinking of our mate RossKko at this time as well,
here he is seen "testing a K1"
Koffee in May (Sydeney) - Page 2 Img_0311

I plan to be down at Grey Gums for around 10-11am. Earlier if possible and will wait for others to arrive .
Anyone else keen for this .

OK Ed, next Saturday, 12th May, sounds like a good excuse for a little ride and Koffee at the Grey Gums. Barring some unforeseen crisis count me in.

I'm fairly confident that I will not have to ride alone.

How's that K1100 going Keith? Good shortish run to get you going and maybe the usual suspects for Koffee can make it as well.

Cheers

Loaded Dog Rally for me unfortunately.  Very much the other direction in Tarago.  The "Dog" is a firm fixture on my calendar.

I saw them at the Ural open day in Ural-la the other week. Apparently the Guzzi is in a thousand pieces with gearbox and drive train  issues.
By crikey Bundy has been in a  good paddock. :-) Smile
She and Bella seemed to recognise each other, although it's been a few years since they last saw each other sc25

Bundy was keen to head straight for the bar as they arrived at Paxton Pub. She seemed quite at rest at the foot of the barstool as we left.

Plan B , as there appears to be a strong chance of rain on the horizon for this Saturday.

I will be going to Grey Gums in the car with a load of stuff , regardless of the weather .
Then I will be returning back past Gaz's at around 12 noon.so I can drop in there with the intended parcel for the krew to share at Bathurst and Nindigully.

As of lunch time today there will be 3 starters on Saturday morning, one being Tom whose favourite saying is "its only water". Stuart is also keen for a ride and I have thrown it out there for some of the BMW TC NSW Newcastle group if they are interested.

Launch time is planned for 8.30am at the Branxton north bound truck rest area so we should be down at Grey Gums at an appropriate time for Koffee.

Those people doing the weather forecasting are always promising us rain in these parts but it rarely ever happens (famous last words).

Cheers
