My son rides a bike too. Bought one for his 21st and not long after I got a K100LT.  So we went on a trip. He said he wouldn't be seen dead on the LT. Then one day he sat up on it 'I could like this', spoken in a way that told me I could be in trouble.

Your daughter needs to meet Becky on this forum. She has a K100T!!

Riding in doggie slippers is not for the feint hearted, especially when the ears get wet and threaten to beat you to death Laughing

Don't be a meanie, give her the RS. After all - you'll get a new K out of it Wink

I was persuaded to take daughter for a spin on the back of the K, being a slip of a thing she was hidden behind my bulk.
Amazing how many cars doing 80mph suddenly dropped below the speed limit when they saw my yellow hi viz coat on a white bike in their mirror Razz
Daughter loved it but its a bit too heavy for her I'm happy to say.

Cars doing 80mph.......fair enough......but they must have been seeing your yellow hiviz on a white bike coming from behind.....in which case what sort of 80mph were you doing? :farao: ??

I think it's more amazing how many people don't see me wearing a yellow hi-viz and white helmet on a bike with reflective markings on it!

I've even spoken to a few police motorcyclists who have said people don't even spot them. One followed a car doing a steady 80mph on the motorway for almost ten miles without noticing him. It even took the driver a further four miles to notice he'd turned the blue lights on!

I know this may seem a bit pie in the sky for those who live in colder climes, but I live in Western Australia.

We have over 300 days of sunshine a year. (if you are thinking of emigrating, we are full)

I regularly just jump on the bike and nip to the shops or whatever in what I happen to be wearing at the time.

I no longer do it in Crocs.

You know the little holes in Crocs that let in so much cooling air? They are just big enough for a bee as well, nuff said.

Ha that's a nice one.

I spent today playing with a VFR800 that my son dropped off Friday night. Something to do with the fact that he hasn't told someone at home about his new purchase. Other than 'Dad got a new bike'........Time to do my K tasks now while I have his 2 bikes here.

So an invite was extended for breakfast tomorrow at the Motorcycle Grill, about an hours ride from here on the route to West Cork. I am wary as it came with ghastly tyres so I will ride the K sedately.

Debating now whether to invest in a pair of those Croc thingies......
