I've been riding for 40 years but I finally bought the bike I had been drooling over since it came out: a 1989 BMW K100RS Special Edition.  I bought it almost two years ago and have done a bit of work to get it into a sweet state.  Thank goodness for the internet.  I ride it as much as work/family/life allows and have gone on a few 2-3 day trips.  I'm looking to do better this coming season.  Being on the far west coast and on an island makes longer rides a bit more of a challenge.  I belong to the local BMW Riders of Vancouver Island Club and also the Facebook site for K100RS Special Editions.  I've only seen one other K100RS and have NEVER seen another Special Edition.  I have more questions than answers so I am very pleased to have found this forum!

Hi Darrin,
Welcome to the forum. There are a few RS's over here on the mainland but I've never seen a "special edition". Hopefully I'll spot you on one of my runs to Tofino when I visit my daughter.
Heres to living in the best place in Canada for (almost) year round riding!
