Yes one of the arms are broken which has caused the motor to burn out it hasn't been serviced for years it's had it basically

The arms are available from Motobins ($32 I think it was) and the sunroof motors from the BMW cars are the same.
I think its all the cars but I know that my 320i is the same and Inge had a 5 series and said it was the same. I have seen them on ebay for around $70.
If you do fix it use the dry silicone spray to lube it as it doesn't attract any dust.

Ok I'll give it a go I can get one out of Germany for about 250 but I recon I'll have a go at fixing this one if I can buy the arm

go to realoem.com and Put the motor p/n in That should give you a cross refernce for other modles using the motor.

I managed to find the whole retractor/motor mechanism on e-Bay for
150 US$. It cleaned up very nicely and operates flawlessly.

missed out on one from the states for $107.00 au with a pooftenth of a second to go some goose came in with an extra bid his internet must be faster than mine or im just slow

I have found that to snipe on an ebay item in USA you need about 7 seconds to spare or you can just miss it but in Oz 4 seconds will do the job.
