I have been enjoying my re build of the k100, the best part is being able to do bits and still ride her. However yesterday on the way to work all the oil dumped out of the rear shock. It looks original so kind of expected.
The main issues is this is not my main mode of transport, in-fact I can walk to work that is how close it is. It is just more fun on 2 wheels. So I do not need a top of the line fix for the shock.
Do you know if you can ride this kind of a bike without oil in the shock, what are the safety / wear / comfort issues?
I have contacted the UK supplier and it will be around $550 delivered to AUS a recommended option however more than my budget for this build.
A shock rebuilder in QLD can do it for around $250 excluding postage up and back.
So after my questions above, I am looking for feedback as to what my options are, ie has anyone got an old shocker that would fit my bike and give it a bit more life until I can upgrade to the better option?
Thanks I am having a great time and find everyone on this forum a great help.
