I recently took over the care of a nice red K75S (1990, 47k miles) and I am now thinking 'Where have K bikes been all my life?' Terrific piece of engineering and a great ride.  I have recently taken partial retirement so will have plenty of time to tinker and to put some miles on.

Regards,
Ed

Welcome Ed,

Like a good wine, K's and K riders only get better with age.
Top tip read the "how do I?" rather than posting a "wish I'd read....first" - we've probably all been there, although it is amusing to read other peoples warnings after you've just suffered the same fate - doh!)

Enjoy your new bike and your tinkering.

The good thing is that BMW took the "bad" cylinder off of the K100s when they designed the K75.

K75s are an amazing "car on two wheels."

Welcome....

"....member with a cylinder missing."

Perhaps "missing cylinder" might better describe a fair few of the K nuts in the haus!

Welcome. The K75 may be the little sister but she holds her own against her siblings. Let's call her Cylinderella.

Welcome to the forum Ed. I took partial retirement many years ago and enjoyed it so much I made it a full retirement and now I,m so busy I don't know how I ever fitted a job in there.
Enjoy your bike and retirement.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum.  I love the idea that BMW refined the K100 to produce the K75 by removing the 'bad' cylinder.

Going up the learning curve of how to look after these bikes is fascinating - and it is all down to the dedication of forum members putting their experience down for others to share. The internet can be a wonderful thing!

Cheers from soggy, foggy England
Ed
