Twice since I've had the bike ( a month) I'll be riding then suddenly no power, bike just sputters. bu, bu, bu, bu, bu. Not enough power to move the bike but it does not die. Turn the throttle nothing. Pulled over turned off the kill switch and back on and runs fine, power back. Both times was about 1/2 tank left. Not sure if that was the problem though as it still ran fine with that much fuel until I refilled. Anyone have had a problem like that?

First suspect: Fuel level sender connector is going bad causing intermittent power to the fuel pump.

Those connectors to the tank seen to have come to the end of their life I have recently replaced the one on my K1100 with an automotive 4 pin spade terminal plug and socket after many short lived attempts to make it work properly.

at a guess alan
best to undo the tank and get into all those multiple type connections in there

we have seen furry connections leading off to the handle bar controls

before you do ...get some "deoxit "  it is your friend in such cases

as you say that the  emergency stop switch affects the running process ....I would be having a good clean up inside the right hand side control switch assembly as well .

some folks have found gummy ignition switches also to be at fault .

just some of the common things we have seen over the last few years
