Bought my K75 with a Staintune,.......it's too loud for my taste,.....or,.....maybe it isn't so much that it's loud, maybe it's more that it doesn't sound appealing. Even with 30 db ear plugs in, at highway speeds,....it's annoying. It's a bit raspy and high pitched for my taste. My Ducati ST2 was quite loud, but sounded glorious,.....almost like a small block V8. Very deep and throaty and at highway speeds, with earplugs in,......I couldn't hear it until I rolled on some throttle.

I'm thinking that exhaust tones are more often a function of engine design than anything else; and that the answer to my question is that there is no aftermarket pipe that sounds deep and throaty on a K75.

Any thoughts on this.

I have just come back from a ride on the K75 and it has a Staintune, I quite like it and to be very honest I don't think you will find a quiter aftermarket although I find that around 3 to 4Krpm it is a bit louder than I would prefer but at highway speeds it seems fine. I do have a fairing which can make a big difference to things like that.

K´s never sound good

at highway speeds ....  in the US ???  :smoke:    Is there an aftermarket slip on muffler for a K75 that gives a deeper, slightly throaty exhaust note? 44271

ethical husbandry of a K is between 5.500 - 9000 1/min

I think it means either go faster or stay in a lower gear to get the maximum use of engine/exhaust. Most of us tend to change up early and quite rightly our German friends can't understand why. Try staying up around 5 to 6 thou revs maybe except in first.
