I called round to my friend yesterday and he had a K75RT to match my K100RT in his workshop. It had just been bought and had a few issues for him to sort out. Someone has decided to resurrect a 1994 K75RT with low miles. 

He doesn't really get enthusiastic about working on K bikes because of electrical issues and explained that it starts and runs but then after a few minutes cuts out when opening the throttle and will not rev over 5000rpm. Sounded like a fuel issue. Anyway had a look in petrol tank and it was returning petrol fine and guessed that because it was starting ok that there wasn't an issue with the fuel pump. Filter was just brand new. Bike sounded very sweet too. So much so I can see my next K being a K75!!

I remembered posts here about there being a signal from two sources and rather cheekily fired it up but held the starter button down for a moment. It revved fine so its getting fuel on start up.....I thought this was a case of a connection being an issue. So my friend pulled out the under seat tray and the computer........let the computer hang over the frame without disconnecting it, the bike ran fine and revved freely so the short term diagnosis was that there is a bad connection on one of the pins. Opened up the connection and cleaned them over and refitted it. He then organised a test ride and it seemed to run fine.

So my friends question was what two pins [if I am even right] are the relevant ones. His reason is that he wanted to clean up the pins but wants to be covered in case its not the pins but a broken wire in the loom. Owner doesn't want to spend an arm and leg on it and I am hoping we might rope him into the Eccentrics.
