The F-D I got from Motorworks is basically in good condition. Splines, pinion and crown wheel are excellent. Among the stuff I got from the Police when I bought the bike were the crown wheel input roller bearing and the big crown wheel output bearing (OEM), as well as an output seal.
Since the big roller bearing has developed slight roughness and a tiny amount of a play, I decided to use the opportunity to change both bearings and the output seal, as well as paint the housing and tidy everything up.
When I pulled off the roller bearing I damaged the adjusting shim behind it. There should be no need to re-shim the drive if I use the OEM bearings I have got, the big original adjusting shim (nr. 2 in diagram) and the same thickness shim (nr. 4 in diagram) in place of the one I damaged.
When I measure the damaged shim with an accurate Calliper, I measure it 2,360 where it is thinnest and 2,400 where it is thickest. From this I drew the conclusion that it originally must have been 2,400.
