Decided to keep the RT bars. Just waiting for the mirrors to arrive.
Note the cleaner looking back end with the luggage rack and pannier rails removed. Change of exhaust would be nice.

The flyscreen seems to work well, although I must admit, a couple of times today I did miss the fairing with the temperature being on the low side. Hmm, maybe I need to find another RT for next winter.
But sure its Spring now, isn't it!

Excellent result. I agree with Blakey. I like the logo on the hub cap.

CJ, just ride it for five minutes to warm it up, get off and let it sit running for two minutes and get back on when the days a a bit cooler.
I notice sitting at the lights raises the temp a lot and the warm air that flows back can be very welcomed when the fairing is gone.

CJ a very tidy 84 there my man....if only there were quick disconnects for fairings for those cold/wet days but not a bad compromise the way it is....certainly for a country with good weather...heeheee

Ok. After my reply that I said I would post photos and I didnt and then said I wouldnt well now I am.

This is the K100/2 headlight and clock mount with a standard RT dash and bars compared to a RT clock mount with standard RT dash and K100 bars.
Ignore the bars as the dash mount is the same. Just typed that for a bit of clarity. Unless it just confuses things.

Compare the clocks to the dash on both and the top of the forks on both.
The /2 mount is a good few inches lower.

And now with the standard RT dash and mount.

Looking great Comberjohn!

Did you do anything about the height of the speedo? I have just swapped my handlebars from RS to RT and the new seating angle means that I am getting sun glare direct to my retina's. 36 degrees of sunshine here today. (the norm)

We could swap brackets?

Was able to drop the clocks by about 23mm by re drilling the mounting bracket. Not sure if that would help your problem.
There seems to be two different types of mounting bracket. Mine is a simple angled bracket but one recently on eBay and according to the drawing on RealOEM, a different bracket can also be attached using a couple of small fittings.
Check which type you need before parting with any money or start cutting anything.

Bigsax, the pads were on it when I bought it.
The good news is that they aren't original, expensive pads. They are made from a '3D carbon fibre' type material, cut to shape.
Widely available on eBay for a few pounds.
I had always fancied the original tank pads but wouldn't pay those prices either.
The ones I have now are very effective and are sticking well. Recommended.

You can make your own pads using cheap car mudflaps, just cut out your own shape.

Actually I was thinking of going to Clark Rubber and see what they have, I have seen some very high density stick on foam sheeting that may do the job.

I did try that first, but the self stickers can't take too much heat and the tank does get hot. Have a look at my thread..a journey begins. You need to use silicon as a "glue".
