This is odd: Got home last night, turned off, put bike on centrestand ... headlight is still on. What? I triple-checked the key position, flicked all the light-associated switches just in case - headlight stayed on. The light off switch worked, but then the high-beam flasher also worked, turning on the light - with the ignition turned off.

Thankfully, the bike started again today, so having turned the light off manually the battery wasn't killed.

I haven't started investigating this yet, so I haven't looked at any of the wiring diagrams. I'll have time tomorrow. I'm thinking a reliable short has established, bypasing the ignition switch? Or is the connection managed by a relay, not a physical break in the circuit, and the relay may be fried?

I haven't cleaned the starter motor yet (http://k100rt.aforumfree.com/t4530-now-what-the-hell-starting-problem - that problem has happened three times now, in four weeks, so I've got the kit but haven't had a spare day to address it) so hey, I guess weird electrical problems could have any cause :pirat:.

I would say the most probable cause is the load shed relay sticking closed and leaving the power to the handlebar switch still live.

Rick, that's plausible enough it may just work.

This would be one of the relays in the box under the seat, yes?

AN option is to pull the fuse one at the time. You will find out which fuse affecting the headlight. Next you can check the relays under the seat.

I suggest you can clean all your wiring connection at the same time which are also located under the seat.

Good luck and have fun.

Cheers mate.
